WEll, the edge of the pick. Actually, drag it... start from your bridge pickup and go to about your 12th fret, that's the best place. You can go further, but it starts sounding awkward.

Basically, you take the back edge of the pick and scrape it along the strings almost perpendicular to them, like this:

The lowest string will give you the best scraping sound. You don't have to fret any notes. Do you have a guitar? Just experiment with different ways until you find a sound that you like.
