The Stang - Work In Progress (RC)
Question: Just looking for some honest crtique on this. The song is called "The 'Stang" Its metaphorical song about a rusted out car in the desert who life now passes by. Feel free to critque the lyrics, music, vocals and anything else you might see that needs work. Chorus is done, verses are in very rough draft, music will be modified to fit the lyrics, but the rhythm in the MP3 will remain the same. Note - Stil very much WIP The ‘Stang Drew Neal © 2007 Verse 1 ‘Long a back road’s dirty ditch Sits a rusted out hulk, man what a switch A ‘69 mustang is what she was Whata beauty ‘till somebody pulled out the plugs Pre chorus How many times can the world spin around You tell me ‘cuz the number can’t be found Chorus ’69 Mustang where have you been Burinin’ in the sun Rustin’ in the sand ’69 Mustang where have you been Has your life got away from you Verse 2 Ya’ came with 6 flavors of V8 Nothin’ could catch ya’ when the road was streight Livin’ life in the fast lane Spent your time like you weren’t the one pay’n Pre chorus How many times can the world spin around You tell me ‘cuz the number can’t be found Chorus ’69 Mustang where have you been Burinin’ in the sun Rustin’ in the sand ’69 Mustang where have you been Has your life got away from you Verse 3 Guitar Solo over 1st phrase Every place was only a drive through From the dinner-date to the hot interview Pre chorus How many times can the world spin around You tell me ‘cuz the number can’t be found Outro Answer: This could be a fun little rock song. Your vocals are a little breathy, when they should be more punchy. Rock out with it! Lyrically it's mostly just fun. If you took the 'stang and turned it into a metaphor of how life is passing you by, it could be interesting. Other than that, my main critique is grammatical. Misused apostrophes are my pet peeve. The last line should be "Has your life gotten away from you?" Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
