"Fast Paced" Worship Songs
Question: I play bass in the worship band for our youth group; overall, we're pretty decent if we get our pratice in [despite the fact that I feel like a ska band because it can get cramped on stage with our team ] But right now we're looking for some upbeat, faster worship songs to begin the set. Just to give some info on our team we have two female vocalists, a drummer, a bassist, two guitarists, and our Youth Leader who plays guitar and sings leads. Yes, in total we do have three guitars. Yes, it is way too much. Yes, it can get cramped. But we're working on it. Our Youth Leader wants to have the Worship completely student led, so he's slowly dropping out of singing and guitar. Some of the faster songs we play now are: I'm In Love With Jesus Every Move I Make Jesus Loves Me I've Got a Message For You Baby [A Message from the King] Some of those songs might not seem fast, but...they are. But we need more variety of songs. Currently, we play everything from Chris Tomlin to David Crowder, from Releint K to possibly even Showbread. So we cover a lot of different musical styles and skills. Thanks for your help, guys, we really appreciate it! Answer: I can think of a few. You mentioned Tomlin and Crowder, but none of the songs you named are theirs. I've started using Crowder's new ones "Here Is Our King" and "Wholly Yours". Tomlin's got "Your Grace Is Enough" and "Everything" that have went really well for us. Do some stuff like "Enough" or "Worthy of My Praise" in the style of Jeremy Camp's Carry Me project. "Undignified" a la Crowder or "No One Like You"...etc. etc. There's plenty of stuff, the catch is just getting everybody to learn it. Answer: Hillsongs united One way Jesus Salvation is here Kutless Strong tower Rewrite the music for traditionally slow slongs. We've done a punk version of almost every traditional song you can think of LOL. Hope that helps Answer: Originally Posted by Brent I can think of a few. I would also recommend "Foreverandever, etc." off of Crowder's new CD. I saw it done at 7:22 (in Atlanta, well I was in Ohio online), and it seemed like it went very well. Those are pretty fast paced. Answer: Tree63 has some really good "fast-paced" songs (or songs that could be sped up to a faster pace), including "Earnestly," "Can I See Your Face?," "It's All About To Change," "King," their version of "Blessed Be Your Name," and their own "But Now My Eyes Are Open." We've played King a few times, and I think we might eventually do it for a youth-emphasis Sunday or something, only sped up to uber-fast speed. It's an incredibly good song for speeding-up potential. In His love, Nate Answer: Also... do yourself a great favor and go to www.speedwood.com Answer: Some united songs I like are One Way, Forevermore, and All Day. And another upbeat song we do is Take Me In by kutless. We don't do the sweet intro yet because I am trying to figure it out so if any of you know how it goes please tell me thanks. That was incredible. I tried to, but the network on campus is awful and it kept stopping to rebuffer every 30 seconds. I've barely been able to watch my 7:22 since the fall semester started. I'm only 3 hours from Atlanta, one of these days I'm going to go down there and see it in person. I visited North Pointe one sunday morning a couple months back. Answer: Thanks for the replies, I'll take these up with our youth leader, and we'll definitly check some of these out. Over the next four weeks we're going to be working on some more songs probably along the lines of: For The Moments I feel Faint [relient K], I've always Loved You [Third Day], Matthias Replaces Judas [Showbread], King [Tree63], and we'll probably work more on our Tomlin/Crowder songs; Thanks for the help, if you have any more suggestions, those are welcome as well! Answer: Open Skies off David Crowder's older cd Illuminate is a good upbeat song Revolutionary Love is also a good song and even better when started off with a How Great (Sunsets and Sushi remix) intro. Here is Our King, Wholly Yours, and Foreverandever etc. are all good songs and you can find the full tabs right here Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
