question with power chords..

Question:
how come for some songs, the tab shows that a power chord is showed..

okay so like the 2nd one is a power B chord..B5..whatever
but whats the first one? is it the minor of it? sustained?
also, how do you play a sustained version of a chord in the "power chord" format?

Man, try to stay away from power chords. If anything play bar chords. And it also depends on what you are using. Norm. Electric, Dist. Electric, Acoustic. We need details, man.

Techinically all that it is, is just the exact same thing without the octave.
In the example that you gave, the bottom one shows the notes B F# B and the top one is just B and F#
So there's really no difference what soever (except for the octave) They are both written as B5.
