Hi all, my youth band is playing at a mini convention, and for the first time, we're doing alter call, now i went through all my songs that i have and found out the majority of my songs are worship type songs. so i'm wondering, if anyone has any songs they know of that are great for alter call, i would be grateful if you could point me in the right direction. Worship songs are best. The slow songs work great, cuz the speaker usually sometimes needs to speak over it... and just, almost all slow worship songs are used... You never here an altar call to: Every Move I Make, or Victory Chant.. Lol
But the biggest thing bro... be in tune with the Holy Spirit... have your band and you memorize songs.. you'll be amazed at when u start to do this, how the Holy Spirit can direct you to a song... So be open and listen to His voice.. and if He calls u to play a fast song, DONT say: but J3sus Is My L0rd said that only slow songs are played.. LOL... thats just a general rule of thumb, unless God says otherwise...
Slow worship songs are great, as I said before. Songs from "Here I Am to Worship" to "Hungry (Falling on my Knees)" to "I Can Only Imagine"... usually U dont wanna get too fast paced just for the reason that... God is movin on the hearts of the young people... and if you have a fast Kickin beat, it has a tendency (especially on youth) to make them wanna stand and clap and bounce their head to the beat... things which could possibly be distracting. (in my personal opinion as a youth, anyway)
