guitar talking
Question: I've tried to make my guitar talk before. I've gotten a tuner with a mic on it and say little pieces of words in it and see what notes they are. I almost got it to say Hello once but it came out kinda like a heo. still sounded cool. But my question is does anyone know a site where i can get tabs for making your guitar say something? Thanks -Noah Answer: I've tried too. The guy off switchfoot did it too on his video. I really would like to know also. Answer: I made mine talk guitar talk by putting my top lip on the low E string and my bottom lip on the edge of the Humbucker and talking. It only worked with heavy distortion Though. Answer: Is this an electric guitar? is it possible to doit on an acustic?!! Answer: If it's an electric-acoustic just talk in the sound hole when its on. Answer: Could you give a example of an band or artist that does this? They could be using a talkbox. Answer: I saw it on the Live in San Diego Switchfoot DVD he's definetly not using a talk box. Answer: what did he do? Answer: Jon Foreman from Switchfoot sings into the humbuckers on his guitar, and at high volume with gain and echo, it picks up his voice. I'm not exactly sure of details how to do it, but I know there has to be lots of volume. I think there's a thread on this in the Switchfoot section of this site. And this reallly doesn't belong in Tab Requests. Were I moderator of this section of the site, I would move it for you. -Nick Answer: Use a delay pedal. I just found out that works. Answer: I know that some artists that are really into it use a talkbox, (Peter Frampton, Bon Jovi, etc.). But you can sometimes get it to work with your pickups, it just doesn't work very well most of the time... Get a talkbox if you really want to do it right though...
