The one thing
Question: I have been seaching for tab for Paul Colemman "The One Thing" and have been unable to find it. If anyone knows where i can find it please e-mail me @ ddeaton66@hotmail.com Answer: I've never actually tabbed anything out, but maybe this is a song I should start with. In the meantime, this might help you get started. Kapo on the 4th fret and don't use a pick, fingerpick it. Here are the basic chord structures that are used, obviously not used exactly...but it gives something to start with until I get the motivation to type out tab. F Major, hit high on the first one, 12th fret gets that high sound first. C Major G Major, hammer on from the F to the G then hit the open D B and G a minor, hit the A first then the open D B and G again, then hammer onto the a minor. C Major sus (whatever it's actually called) Then repeat. Now obviously there is a lot more going on here than that, but that will give you somewhere to start, and hopefully you can figure it out from there. If not I'll see if I can actually type out some tab. Also, everyone feel free to give some corrections! James Almy EDIT: Ok, I gave it a try and did a little tabing. This is my first attempt at writing tab so let me know of any mistakes you see...just never done it before. The numbers correspond to the kapo, not the nut, I wasn't sure how tab did that so I went with what was likely easiest for the reader. It's fingerpicked, btw. Kapo on the 4th Fret E ---8------------------------------------ B ---6-------------------------0---0h1---- G ---5--5-----0h2-------------0---0h2---- D ---7--5-----0-----2p0-0-----0---0h2---- A ----------3------3-------------0-------- E -------------------------1h3------------ E ---------------------------------------- B ---1-----------------------0---0h1------ g ---0h2-0---0---------------0---0h2----- D ---3---3---0h2---2p0-0----0---0h2------ A ---3-----3-----3-------------0---------- E ------------------------1h3-------------- I would really like some feedback, as this is my first tab, before I post it to the database. So please post away! If I get no responses I may start another thread to make sure people have a chance to take a look and let me know. Answer: *bump* Editing didn't bring it to the top, so I hope no one will mind a bump...I'd like some feedback on my first attempt at tabbing, and would rather not have to start another thread for it. Almy Answer: I spent some time on this a month or so ago when someone else requested it, but I am a rookie tabber as well, and after i even got pretty confident that I got it right, I didnt post it permenantly to the site.. ( maybe scared of thinking i know something) but anyway, here is what I came up with: I just submitted to the archives as well. God Bless! Two bars into the intro it had me. Awesome tune with some really cool acoustic guitar. Anyway..the posts that I have seen so far on it will work. capo 4 F,C,G, Am. F,C,G,C. Basically a cowboy chord tune that is beautiful in it's simplicity and those chords will work. However....I'm not sure which one it is, but it sure sounds like the way he plays it on the recording is an open or alternate tuning. I'll let you know what it is when I get time to find it. Level best, Durt Answer: I've seen him play this live and he does use a pick. The chords are great, thank you. Answer: awesome, guys! How about one of you add it to the main tab archive, so others can get in on the action? Answer: Its sound hard, but its pretty easy... No capo chords: i dont have the guitiar at hand right now.. but you figure pick it with the slaps... A > E> BM > CM it might be EM and B... but its in that area... you can play with the songs to get the timing... Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
