Putting God 1st....
Question: Hey all. This is my first thread so bear w/ me. Ok I haven't really had a problem w/ this till recently. I met a girl almost a year ago, and I'm in love for the first time. Or at least what I call love. Thats a loaded word anyway, but another discussion maybe. Anyway, so i'm in love w/ this girl and a feel that i'm putting her before God. I'm not really sure what i mean by that, its just that i feel i'm letting God down when i'm thinking about her and not Him. I guess i'm asking if anyone can give me some advice on how to correct this or tell me how to even it out or whatever. so just respond and give me your input if you could. Thanx. Answer: 1. How old are you...just for ref 2. In any first relationship the entire feeling of having someone is overwhelming and a new feeling. It's very easy to put your other part of you in front of God. 3. I'm confused about the whole thinking about her instead of God. Do you mean you feel guilty just whenever you think of her or what? 4. Obviously, if you have concern about it, then it's probably real. You're making the best step to admitting it to yourself to overcome it. Your relationship with God is more important than with her, so if it comes down to it, it might be wise to slow things down, take a break from each other, just so your focus can be shifted back to God. You have to have a very firm foundation with Christ before getting serious with a girl. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
