what does this mean?

Question:
What does the phrase"sold out for Christ" mean ? My Christian friends have quit talking to me and another friend of mine because they said that we are not sold out for Christ. they have formed a little click and have pushed us to the outside. I love Jesus and have a close relationship with Him, I pray and go to church. but for some reason these people dont seem to think that I love jesus as much as they do or something. And they seem to judge my walk with God. when they dont really know how close I am with God. they assume that I am not close with God or something. right now I am seeking God for direction.

It's a really stupid way to say you're willing to do anything for Jesus. Your Christian friends are basically saying (as I think you understand) you're not a good enough Christian for them, which is a very bad thing to say. Nobody can tell how close you are to God. Regardless, one should should seperate himself from others based on their closenesses with God as compared with his. Jesus hung out with prostitutes.
I'm sorry that this has happened to you.
Answer:
your friends are quite judgemental then.
They cannont judge anyone's salvation.
I've never heard that phrase before, sounds a lot like other standard "pop" Christianity phrases...

If anything I would say they are bringing you down. I would just continually pray that God would speak 2 them and maybe make them realize how Judgemental they are being.

When I first truly came to know God, my first reaction was to assume, rather wrongly, that all my family and friends and people at my church must not really be Christians, because they hadn't been able to lead me closer to Him. I was experiencing God in deeper ways than I ever had before - but still, I realize now, so shallow - and my immature reaction was to assume that I had suddenly become more Christian than everyone else. That was my own pride creeping in and perverting the good work that God was doing in me by turning it into a way to exalt myself.
That's probably what is going on with your friends. They've experienced something - whether truly from God or false - that makes them look back on how they were before and say "That wasn't real Christianity." And the side effect is that they're looking back at everyone they used to know and saying "...and they aren't real Christians."
I would suggest going to your friends (humbly, not because you're at fault but because _someone_ has to take the first step of reconciliation here) and ask them to tell you what it means to them to be "sold out" - what difference they see or hope to see in their lives, and what has convinced them that they weren't "sold out" before.
If God is doing anything real in their lives, they'll welcome the opportunity to share. (And even though they're being immature, even if they're patronizing, listen respectfully to what they say instead of attacking them - again, not because they're right, but because _you_ need to do the mature Christian thing if they aren't willing or able to.) If all that is going on in their lives is collective self-righteousness, you'll learn that too, but dealing with that is a different matter.

I honestly don't understand how this phrase ever got as popular as it did. I mean, you hear of people selling out all the time and it's never a good thing. Plus, when people sell out they usually do it for instant rewards. Are these people expecting life to be all peachy for them? Gee whiz. You put me into a Saved! rant. But these people are pulling a Hilary-Faye (for those who have seen it). Keep plugging away. Keep fighting the good fight. And keep praying that God would reveal the truth to them.
