Getting to know the profs

Question:
So this year, I'm going to be trying to get into some special programs and get some scholarships and stuff like that. However, for most of this stuff you need a prof to give you a reference. The thing is, I don't know any profs and my classes all have over 100 people in them. So how do I get to know a prof well enough for them to give me an educated reference?
Answer:
Make it a point to go and talk with them during their office hours whenever you have a question, or just want to talk about the subject with them. If they are around in labs, make a point of discussing things with if you can. Also, if they have any presentations or the like outside of class, go and see them outside the classroom setting.
I know it's hard to get to know profs in large classes. I didn't really start to get to know my profs until my Junior year. It really helps if there are professional organizations in your field that your profs are members of that hold meetings you can attend.
Hope all that scattered info helps.
Answer:
Talk to them?
Even if it weren't for the fact that I have small classes most of the time, I still would know most of my professors fairly well, because I make it a point to get to know them. I'll just go to their office and sit down and chat about something that's vaguely related to the course or their area of expertise (or my academic career), but mostly I just talk to them. It works for me.
Answer:
Go to a smaller college

Answer:
I went to see my WLit teacher once and I had to think up something to ask him as I was walking up the stairs to his office! I asked him a good question "how can I study this (Hamlet I believe it was) for this test on Friday?" and we ended up talking about lots of stuff related to my major, and current events, and the English department, etc. Not to mention he said something that helped me study.
So yeah, just go talk to them even if you really don't need to
