Money Makes the World Go Round
Question: After a year of college, I only had two dollars and fourteen cents left. So, my question is, does anyone know any really good ways to make money or save money in university/college? Now, there are the obvious ways like buying used textbooks or only eating Kraft Dinner but does anyone know any good ways that few people think of? Answer: work hard, full-time during the summer when you're not in school and except for gas, save everything you can!!! Then, spend wisely during the school-year. Also, sell your books on amazon - rather than back to the bookstore! I only sell mine to the campus bookstore as a last resort. Buy your books used or damaged on amazon too . . . if you have time to wait on the shipping (which usually isn't too long) Works for me Answer: If you can get away with not having a car, dont use one. Running them (as im sure you know if youi have a car) is a blackhole for money! Answer: As obvious as this sounds, save your change. You don't really miss it when you throw it in a jar, but it adds up quite nicely. Answer: Don't just work during summer, work during school too. Just obviously not full time. I worked about 20 hours a week. Still managed a 4.0, plenty of friendships, and time for me and my girlfriend... Answer: i'd agree w/ everyone else. no car, work hard, work at school as well, buy only used books from amazon or half.com. i'm working construction this summer. it's hard, hard work. but, it's great hours (8-9 hours a day, 5 days a week) and really good money. and i'm working hard for college, which makes me feel good. it's not the most ideal job, but sometimes you need to look outside what you're directly "interested" in.
