Who to See?
Question: Practical question here: what kind of doctor do I need to go to to talk about the possibility of being treated for depression? Should I find a psychiatrist? Or can I just go to a GP? Answer: Originally Posted by enternamehere Practical question here: what kind of doctor do I need to go to to talk about the possibility of being treated for depression? Should I find a psychiatrist? Answer: definitely. A psychiatrist would be the best person to go to. But like Tony said, be prepared to end up going to a GP then getting reffered. If your insurance requires your GP refer you, then fine, but take absolutely no medication from a GP, only take seriously what a psychiatrist tells you. I mean, if you had heart disease would you go to the eye doctor? No, you'd go to a cardiologist - same principle applies. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
