Best gifts...
Question: What are the best gifts you've given to your significant other? What are the best gifts you've received? This can help everyone in the process of "what to get" someone else. Like me, in this current situation I'm in...lol Answer: An electric guitar. But actually, it seems she liked the ring I gave her better. I bought it frmo silverjewelryclub.com You should check that site out, cheap-expensive jewelry. Answer: though I have never had nor been a signifigent other.... for a gift to really mean something, I think it should come from your knowledge of what that person likes, be inexspensive, and shows that you put time and thought into it. I appreciate my more exspensive gifts from my family and friends, but the gifts that show the thought and care they put into it mean the most. if I were married/in a relationship/what have you, if any gifts are given, I would want them to be gifts that he put a lot of thought into, like a poem, or hand-picked flowers, anything sweet, simple, inexspensive, and thoughtful. Answer: Best given wasa probably a really nice blue sapphire necklace with a small diamond. I have it again, actually. I think I'm going to sell it on e-bay or something. :/ Best received... I had a necklace which, though inexpensive, was around my neck every day for a long while. Past this? I don't know. I have not received a ton of really good gifts. I had a song written for me once, and that was lovely. I've not given a ton of good gifts either. Because I am a loser. Answer: Best gift received? My engagement ring, and the red trainers i had looked at everytime we'd gone shopping. Best gift given? The book of music he though was unavailable. Answer: The best gifts (from my significant other ) Were a bracelet that has a heart with my name on one side and "xoxo his name" on the other, and a poem. A sonnet actually, and I LOVE it. Totally agree. I'm struggling for a good present for my girlfriend this time though...lol Answer: Originally Posted by Shakespeare for a gift to really mean something, I think it should come from your knowledge of what that person likes, be inexspensive, and shows that you put time and thought into it. I gave my girlfriend a gift for christmas last year, and it was a white gold necklace with a little diamond. It wasnt heaps expensive but then again it wasnt paricularly cheap. I put a lot of thought into it because i wanted it to be special, and it took me many many different stores to find the one i wanted.... i didnt even know that many jewlery stores exsisted. Anyhow my point is, inexpensive doesnt always signify thought... it often signifies... hmmm.... inexpensive, cheap, tacky etc etc But on the other hand it sounds like it works for you so thats awesome! you can save some money! Answer: make something!! everyone loves a home-made card.. or cookies.. everyone loves cookies.. but if you are looking for something more.. that was just an added bonus kind of gift you know.. to go along with something else.. i would tell you a good idea of what to make.. but my boyfriend is on CGR and i made him something for our 1 year anniversary (it isn't until june 11th).. and that would spoil it if i said it on here haha.. but if you are into making something.. let me know and i will PM you what i did.. Answer: Totally agree. I'm struggling for a good present for my girlfriend this time though...lol thanks yeah good gifts can be hard to find/think of. Personally i think that is wrong. I bet your girlfriend loved the necklace all the more because of the time and effort you put into getting it. You are right, inexspensive doesn't always signify thought, nor does exspensive always signify thought, thought signifies thought I just happen to be fiscally conservative, so yes it works for me Answer: My sweetheart (ForgivenPix ) has given me many great gifts. My my birthday, she gave me a hand-stitched guitar strap that has Psalm 95on it. Very cool. For Christmas, she got a Scrabble board and spelled out various words that have special meaning to us (like "faith", "love", "friend", "pix"(her nickname), etc). I have it hanging in my room. Then for Valentine's Day she recorded a CD of her singing some songs just for me! I love it! I've gotten her a bracelet, a heart-box for odds and ends, Phantom of the Opera, and written her a sonnet . I've only been dating three months, so as far as extravagant gifts, none to be found. Although I am going to take her to the zoo this weekend which she absolutely loves. And then later than night we're going to go and get some desert fondue. And I'm also getting her the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory soundtrack...her favorite movie. Small stuff, but yet meaningful enough. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
