gift gone to pressure

Question:
i believe God has given me a gift to help people my age. i began praying about being able to reach-out to people and help them and such a few years ago. God answered me with people all of a sudden coming to me for help. over that time, my ability got stronger and so the response from people had the same flow. i feel so blessed but yet at the same time burdened. i dont think i ever though it would come to this level of intensity. i cant even have a best-friend for more then about half of a year because when i try to spend the day with someone else helping someone, they think that I'm "abandoning" them or im "giving them the slip" that i dont want to be their friend anymore. i just feel like this gift is coming with a sacrifice im not ready to take. i've been getting tantroms over things that shouldn't be that big of a deal. ex. two different people wanting me to sit with them. it's like the bigger picture that goes on all the time is reflecting itself in thoes no big deal things.
it's not really advice im looking for, it's just some uplifting scripture or something. thx

Answer:
I know you asked for scripture and not advice, but this is an advice forum. It would seem to me you probably know the scriptures about encouragement. So I have a little advice for you, instead of going by yourself to help or encourage someone bring your friend with you! Let them help and see just what you are doing. BY doing this you are not only helping the person you intended to help but also teaching another friend how to encourage and love others through the love of Christ. What better thing could you do for either of them? Your gift is a great gift and it’s nice to have natural gifts, but some gifts can be learned. The gift of encouragement is one that can be learned through experience and training, so spread the joy and let others learn to use their encouraging spirit by watching you…
