The Summer Transition

Question:
So here we go. On Friday May 6, I will pack up my bags and belongings, load them into a 2000 Daewoo Leganza, tell my friends bye, spend some last few quality moments with the girlfriend, and then head home. That evening I will stay busy by participating in Church Softball. On Saturday, I'm going to Atlanta to my brother's house for Mother's Day (obviously not in honor of myself)...
Once the weekend is over...my transition must begin. As of right now, I've applied for jobs to a couple of places...haven't heard anything though...
Once I get a job, I will be a little better...
Secondly, all of my friends are elsewhere...while I still have my youth group...one must realize they're high schoolers...and well, I'm not. Not that I'm not going to hang out with them, it's just I've finally realized my friends have quickly become the ones at college.
Thirdly, my girlfriend will only be living an hour and a half away, so I'm not too sad about that one...well like I am, but you know, nothing to go moaning around about...weekends are for that...I can live...just don't tell her I'm not like stressing over it...sheesh
Finally, a little over three full months of being away from school. It's a great time, yet how do you handle the transition from college, to living back at home?
I was just wondering about some things there. Kind of woke up this morning and it hit me that in less than a week, I'll be lonely. (I'm a Choleric Sanguine/Extrovert) Thus, human contact is necessary by someone other than my mother. (Would prefer not to be 31 and living in my parents home)
This is partially humor, but at the same time, I figure it would spark something interesting to hear experiences from the transitions people had to make.
Answer:
Well, I went the community college route and did not move out. I am trying to save myself as much money as I can while enjoying college.
Although I am temped to move out, I do not because I am paying for college on my own without loans. I am also working about 50 hours a week plus 16 credit hours of college(M-F 9:00am-12:00pm). So, between school, work, church, and friends, I am hardly home, so an apartment would be a storage space for me, so why not save money?!
Well, this summer...this is kind of weird, you are going home, I am leaving...I am going to Obregon, Mexico for 5 weeks. I will live with an exchange family, so I will be living at "home" but not "my home." So, I am looking forward to getting away from the hussle and bussle of this country, and I hope to enjoy Mexico.
Maybe to get use to living at home, take a fun class at the community college...piano, guitar, or something like that. That way, you meet people your age near your moms house, and you can have some college age friends.

I just finished my first year of university where I was about a three hour drive from home for about 8 months. The year before I left for school was probably one of the best times I have ever had and when I came back home last week, I was hoping that things would go back to the way they were. I quickly realized that things will never go back to the way they were. Though I thought it would, that doesn't bother me at all. For me, it was all about accepting that.

i live about one hour away from my school, and my girlfriend lives back home too, so im actually looking foward to spending the summer at home. however, i wont see any of my college friends this summer, and when i come back next semester, we are all moving out different places. im also not looking foward to working full time plus taking summer classes.
