so there's girl whom i shall call sue. sue is in choir and the choir is having a choir banquet. she wants to ask this guy whom i shall call bob, but she gets too scared and never asks him. she says if she doesn't ask him tonight then she's not going to ask him at all. i asked her who her backup option was and she said that she'd just go alone. how could i let her know that i'd gladly go with her without coming off as liking her?

"Hey, if you don't want to go alone, I'd be happy to accompany you."

however, if you do like her, why not just let her know and ask her? What's the point of secrecy? She'll write you off as a friend.
