morning devotionals.... help!
Question: um, i have been doing my devotionals early each morning, and it's been working out pretty good so far, except i'm always reeeally tired during the day and all through school. i tried like, right before i go to bed but that doen't work either cuz i still get tired during the day! so i was wondering if anyone out there had any suggestions on any different times to do devotionals and stuff, it would be awesome to hear from ya guys! so could ya please private message me if you have any suggestions? thanks!!! Answer: I personally struggle with getting up early so morning devotions are not for me at all, I wouldn't even be able to focus on the words lol. I've decided to do mine either at night or in the middle of the day, it depends on my schedule but lately the middle of the day has been working best for me because I'm home then. If you have trouble with tiredness try doing them outside or in another room where you won't get tired. If you're doing them in your room lying on your bed, if you're anything like me you'll be thinking about how great a nap would be rather than thinking about what God has for you today. Try also drinking something while you're reading, this will kind of stimulate your senses a bit and keep you more alert. Good luck . Answer: Good advice, but also, be careful not to lose the time you have in the morning in the shuffle of daily life, if you get my meaning. Sometimes people shuffle Fellowship with God around to fit their schedule but end up losing the time they managed to make at other points in the day. What I'm suggesting as an alternate idea is that your schedule may need to bend a little more instead of just shuffling Time in God's word around. Unless you really can't concentrate in the morning in which case, I would suggest making time at another point. Just another thought. Answer: I'm gonna state the obvious here and suggest you get more sleep... Seems like no matter when you try to do your devotions you get tired. The other thing I wonder is how long you've been doing your devotions in the early morning? Your body quite often just needs to adjust to something like that. I used to do what you're doing... I started work at 7:30 am, so I woke up in the morning (around 5) with enough time to get ready and go to work, but also to have quiet time. Eventually I just got into the cycle of it...
