Ear problem
Question: Hey everyone. I've been having problems with my ears, mainly my right one, I think due to playing guitar too loudly. When I swallow, my ears crackle or pop. I know this could be due to many things. When I blow my nose it feels like my ears are going to explode. Are they blocked? I took some sinus stuff...hopefully that'll clear it up. I thought maybe I got water in them. I don't know. It's just really irritating. Answer: I've had the same problem with my left ear for the past week in a half. If it's congested, you will feel a pressure feeling, and pretty much, it'll sound like you have your finger in your ear. Sinus medicine didn't work for me, but it does go away, right now, all I have left is the pressure feeling, the sound and everything is back. Answer: advice, get good ear plugs and save your ears. Answer: I had the same problem....turned out I had a sinus infection that was draining fluid into my ears. THe doctor looked in my ears and said that my ears weren't infected, but that they were filled with fluid. Refused to give me an antibiotic cause he didn't realize the sinuses were involved. Gave me sudafed instead. I took matter into my own hands and started taking antibiotics. Within a week the pressure cleared up, and noise doesn't bother my ear as much anymore. I bet if I take the sudafed, it will stop bothering it completely. BUT yeah, definitely, wear earplugs, so your ears will work for the next 100 years (or however long you are alive) and you'll be able to hear God's people worship him as you play guitar for them. Heather Answer: If the problem continues, it would probably be best to see a doctor. If this is an ear infection or ear damage, he can help. You might also try cleaning them out with an ear syringe if that doesn't gross you out too much. And get some decent earplugs. Answer: Originally Posted by rock_guitar1990 Hey everyone. It's just really irritating. That sounds like just far too much ear wax. I've had the same thing before. It's especially noticeable during and after airplane flights. The simple way to fix that is to find a way to squirt warm water or saline solution into your ear at relatively high pressure, to clean it out. I'm sure there are other ways of achieving the same effect as well (but trying to dig the gunk out of your ears with, say, a paperclip or a kleenex, is a bad idea.) Or, just go to a doctor and let them deal with it. That doesn't sound like a noise-related problem; it's just that loud noise will make the blockage in your ears more noticeable. Answer: Please wear ear plugs, and see your doctor. My dad was a big rock in roll junkie in the 70s and early 80s, and he's deaf in one ear now from having speakers right up next to his ear in his truck. You don't want to lose your hearing. Also see a DR, you may just have an ear infection, or a sinus problem. Answer: Originally Posted by Blindman That sounds like just far too much ear wax. I've had the same thing before. Answer: I got a new gun a couple years ago and had never shot it before so I took it out and my dad shot it, I had ear plugs in my ears and my fingers in my ears plugging them even more and I was about 30ft. behind my dad and that gun was so loud that my ears were ringing for 2-3 days and neither me or my dad could hear very good for a few weeks and then our hearing slowly came back. I have always been around loud music and guns and race cars and stuff and I don't hardly ever wear ear plugs. I wear ear plugs when I shoot one of my "loud" guns but never while in a race car or at the race track or while playing guitar or drums or anything. I've had the same problem before and the doc told me that my ears were backed up because of swimming and stuff and gave me some ear drops and in about 1-2 weeks my ears were fine.
