Homework - not due
Question: Have any of you had the frustrating experiance where teachers assign homework for one day then on that day "extend" the due date? I was frustrated today because I was the only person in one of my classes (out of 8 of us) who DID do my homework. So... she extended it. Then, out of the group of my friends in another class, I was the only one who did all of it (the problem on both counts was forgetfulness), but class was cancelled. I really feel like I have a right to whine. Anyway, I was VERY pleased to hear my Ethics teacher "go off" for 5 minutes on how he doesn't accept late work. He's got a great policy. You get credit if it's handed in by the time he leaves class. If you catch him between class and the time he leaves campus (could be 2 minutes, could be 2 hours), you get 20 points taken off (from a 50 point paper!). If you turn it in after he's off campus, you don't get any credit... Answer: That happened to me today, actually. Answer: Something like that situation happened to me last semester. I asked my professor about it, and he said, basically, that he wanted to give them another chance to do the work, but it wouldn't be fair to ask those who did the work to turn it in early because then they wouldn't have as much time to work on it, so he just extended it for everyone. In any event, you did what you should've done; don't let your classmates (or professors) get to you. Answer: Some of my teachers do not even collect homework...I DISPISE it! I do all of the homework to make sure I understand all of the material, and it doesn't count towards my grade, except by tests. Oh well (Glass half full, not empty), atleast I do the homework and get the practice! Answer: Right now I'm posting on CGR while not writing my essay on Daisy Miller. I don't think that there will be any extensions. I should get back to work. I really should. I mean it, I really should. I could type all night about how I should get back to work. Ad infinitim... Answer: I dont really mind, cause youve finished it, so you dont have to worry about it. Better to have it done than to still have to do it. Answer: it's happened to me. one time my english comp teacher extended our research paper due date, and i almost lost an extension that i had on another paper (my school had a mandatory extension rule if a person had more than three exams or three papers due within a two day period or something like that). and the day she extended it was like two days before the paper was due. but it all worked out in the end.
