Psych
Question: How is it that psych chapters are like 50 pages each...at the minimum! Ugh. It makes reading a chapter a day really really hard... Anyone else having trouble keeping up their reading? (Ok, so if i didn't hang around here so much maybe it wouldn't be such a big deal. His Latte Answer: i know what you mean! its so hard.... yeah which psyc book are you using? im using "gateway to your mind" or something like that... its by some crazy person... yeah we're on chapter 8 and i finished reading chapter one on friday... *Cough* yeah dont get behind i have a mid term on thursday... i resorted to reading the words in bold... *sigh* Answer: Haha.... umm.... welcome to college. Yeah. Answer: Originally Posted by Nate Haha.... umm.... welcome to college. Yeah. Hey this is my second time around. I'm not a first time freshman, and I'm used to the college load. But none of my other books had chapters that long. Well, except when I had to read the Bible Knowledge Commentary for Romans... But that was a book, not a chapter! Grr...i have to read two chapters today. Fortunately I'm done with classes at 9am. ha. Answer: Originally Posted by Nate Haha.... umm.... welcome to college. Yeah. Yah, you learn REAL fast how to skim your reading. There is very little chance of you being able to sleep let alone have any kind of a life if you do all the reading that is assigned to you. I'd recommend reading the first line and last line of a paragraph, unless it seems to be of particualr importance. Otherwise, you will be up all night, every night reading. You can really get away with this in psych. Most of it is common knowledge or common sense anyway. I've taken three psych classes, and they are all a breeze. I used the gateway book someone mentioned for my intro psych, and it's a really basic book. It's not that difficult to read. Unless you're a Psych major like me, that just doesn't fly in upper level Psych haha. Answer: tell me about it it gets harder and harder... and more complicated when you're actually majoring in Psych... plus a ton of paperwork... you have to read a lot, memorize terms and their meaning... etc. etc... not to mention when you have to study the different Psych tests, especially the really complicated ones used for extensive diagnosis of a possible mental patient it's still early to back out Answer: Originally Posted by Singin4Him82 Unless you're a Psych major like me, that just doesn't fly in upper level Psych haha. yeah. that and the fact that i have to sign a covenant for most of my classes saying something like "on my honor and before God i have read the material"...and to me skimming like that doesn't equal reading. i've done the skimming thing... we were told to "skim chapter 16" for my history class. it's not the same. so for now, it's just me and the books... for a long time.
