"February 14th"
Question: I just want to apolgoize for being the anonymous poster of the said topic. It was inapproriate to post that sort of thing here. I'm sorry for burdening anyone with it, if they were in fact burdened, and I'm sorry for any other negative effects the topic might have caused. I appreciate your care and concern, and mods feel free to delete or close my topic as you see fit. This is something that I need to work out on my own, and it wasn't right for me to put this on anyone else. My apologies. edit - this thread has served its purpose, there is really no need for discussion. PM me if you want to discuss. Answer: My question is what are your plans? Answer: wait, so you were hm? why didn't you just tell us? i have been praying for you and you should know that. pm me and let me kno wif you still want to go through with it. Answer: As of right now, searching for purpose and direction with the absence of God. Yes, I realize this is utterly senseless, at least to everyone on here who reads it, so there's no need to tell me that. I really don't know what the future holds, but my previous plan isn't looking too promising. I have a pretty major backstage role in our school play, and me not being able to fill it this late in the game would mess some stuff up. So I have to see that through. Can I be honest about this with you, please? May I ask you kindly, even if you reject God for the rest of your life to consider this. There are those who could benefit from your help, be it the homeless, (a people I feel burdened for) or many others less fortunate. While you may not find an intrinsic meaning in your life without God, it would at least make you of use to someone thus giving your life a value. If you want to end your life because you can't find purpose for it, then should the entire human race end it's life? I understand these things are more emotional problems than reasoning problems, but I don't see how you come to such a conlcusion for yourself. You say you feel like you are in the way and taking up space, but everybody takes before they can give, it's the nature of life. Hang in there. Answer: I think Bill's idea is great. (Though I'm probably gonna run with it further than he would have.) How bout you find a way to reach out to someone who needs help? Consider the thousands (or perhaps millions) of people who are currently without food, water or shelter in southeast asia and will most likely die from the lack of one or more of those things. I must say, for me personally, any problems I think I have sure pale in comparison to that thought. How many people die every day because people think they have nothing to give? You could mean a great deal to someone or many people; of that, I am certain. My apologies. actually, thats what we're here for. we want to help... we're Christians and thats what we are called to do. Gal 2:6 Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ. what wouldn't have been right is for you to try to work it out on your own - thats exactly what satan wants you to do, because thats when you are at your weakest. Proverbs 27:17 As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another. 2ndly, i'm confused as to why you are searching for a purpose/direction without God. i know that you probably don't want a discussion surrounding this, but no matter how you put it, your life's purpose is embedded in the existance of God. you are created for His purposes. to try to find a purpose without God is like trying to play guitar without arms... you said that you don't need anyone to tell you this, but this is exactly where your problem is. if you don't grasp this concept, then you won't find your true purpose. bill did bring up a good point as well. if you are set at turning your back on God, the least you can do is to help others. millions of people would gladly be in your spot... would trade everything to have half the opportunities of you... and you want to throw it away? that would be extremely selfish. i'm not trying to be offensive, sorry if it comes across that way. i'm just trying to figure you out and point you in a direction that doesn't end up in destruction. you posted these messages looking for something. just trying to find that 'something'. also, don't hesitate to ask for help. my door is always open to talk about anything. IM or PM any time. i'd be more than happy to help. In Christ, Tom Answer: Originally Posted by Flyguy As of right now, searching for purpose and direction with the absence of God. Well, thank God that your previous plan isnt promising, because you ARE needed. If I remember right you were a christian and a believer, you may feel like your with out God, and may be living a little differently now, but God still loves you and so do i. God still has the very same purpose for you, you may be experiencing these things for a reason, I encourage you to not give up trusting God, no matter how you live or how you feel. WE all go through things, like doubt and all kinds of stuff, but if you were God's, he is looking for you. Praise God, He has already made a way out for the 14th. He knows you better then you know yourslef, he knows your heart and knows the things to come and what he has purposed for you, he knows we ourselves cant handle things, He knows we will mess up, fall short, and get off track thats why he gives us His strength, thats why he carries us through, we fall but he picks us back up, it isnt anything we do ourselves, its God. Our strength is nothing, but if we call for Him, His strength is far more then we can imagine. We are nothing with out God. I mess up all the time, I do things that I hate and fall down. everytime I do, I realize that much more of just how much I really really need God. Dont feel bad for what your going through, seek for the answer, seek Gods loving hands, seek for the truth, God will show you the light....He never fails....never. I'm still praying for you, God bless, Melissa Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
