Question: If you have been a christian for a couple of years, and suddenly you say no thanks to God and Jesus. Is it possible for you to be a christian again then, and will you come to heaven ? Or are you just forgotten, and it's no hope for you anymore ? Answer: This is the Word of God: Deuteronomy 31:8 The Lord is the one who goes ahead of you; He will be with you. He will not fail you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed. Romans 3:3-4a What then? If some did not believe, their unbelief will not nullify the faithfulness of God, will it? May it never be! Rather, let God be found true, though every man be found a liar. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. John 10:27-29 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me; and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand. My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of the Father's hand. Philippians 1:6 For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus. Romans 8:28-39 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose. For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified. What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us? He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him freely give us all things? Who will bring a charge against God's elect? God is the one who justifies; who is the one who condemns? Christ Jesus is He who died, yes, rather who was raised, who is at the right hand of God, who also intercedes for us. Who will separate us from the love of Christ? Will tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? Just as it is written, "For Your sake we are being put to death all day long; we were considered as sheep to be slaughtered." But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, will be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. And now this is the word of man: The answers to your questions are "yes" and "no", respectively. In His love, Nate Answer: You know what? I've been in the position of not wanting anything to do with God and turning my back to Him. But i never felt forgotten. it took me a while to really realize that it was God tugging at my heart strings because i had become so caloused inside. it was a really dark time in my life, but God's grace helped me through it. And i believe that if the person is a true beiever, they'll come back to God eventually. Answer: I personally believe that you cannot lose your salvation (See John 10:27-29). I also personally believe that if you come to the point where you openly reject God, whether or not you've lost your salvation is a moot question- the correct question is whether or not you ever had that salvation to begin with. Then go from there. Answer: Originally Posted by jack sparrow If you have been a christian for a couple of years, and suddenly you say no thanks to God and Jesus. It shows you believe iy is ultimately the truth... But the question remains. Why reject what you assume is truth for a lie? I was a "Christian" for a while in elementary school, but I said "no" to God, and this summer I gave my heart and poor life choices back to God. I believe that Jesus wanted me back and that he wants you too, and everyone else for that matter. If you were a Christian before then your name is in the Lamb's Book of Life anyway. Jesus loves you and he wants you back no matter what you've done. "The heart of the Matter is ametter of the heart." The question is: Do you want him back? Answer: thank you for helping ! it really helps! Answer: Originally Posted by jack sparrow If you have been a christian for a couple of years, and suddenly you say no thanks to God and Jesus. If you have any desire to return to Him, or even any regret over turning your back on Him, then He's obviously still not given up on you. If you were unable to return to Christ, it would only be because your heart had become so hardened that you no longer cared about Him or even cared about the fact that you no longer cared - the fact that you're hoping you can return is proof that the Holy Spirit is still drawing you back to Him. Answer: This is an issue a lot of christians disagree over... I personally come down on the "can't lose salvation" side, mainly because of John 10:27-29, and similar passages.
