Confused and in need of help!

Question:
I'm confused about how I feel about one of my friends.
here's the history:
we met at school and were friends for 5 months before we told each other that we had more than friends feelings for each other. we never dated ..we remained friends partly b/c of my parents (they didn't want me to have a b/f). Then a year later he told me that the extra feelings were gone for him. I knew a change had come over him, but still had more than friends feelings for him. we remained friends...
here's the problem: I thought I had gotten "over" him, but every few months or few weeks for the past year and a half since then the extra feelings come back. are they lying dormant? or am I jsut nostalgic?? I hesitate to call it love, but I'm starting to wonder..please help!
Answer:
it could be nostalgia. it could be a crush. it could be that you haven't let go of the feelings you had for him... but in either instance of the above, where does that put you? you said he's not interested, right?
Answer:
wel..I guess I'm holding onto the hope that things will change between us. but even though they most likely won't I would still like to figure out what it is Ia m feeling.

I think it's a simple crush. I had a crush on a girl in highschool that lasted all 4 years of highschool. So congratulations, you're normal.
