How do you plan a wedding?
Question: so, I have to help my sister plan her wedding.. and I guess I'm probably going to be her brides maid... so, IF I chose to help her... what goes into planning a wedding? what do you need to do for it? and what is a bridal shower and how do you plan one of those? (my sister said it's the maid of honor's job to set that up.. ) Answer: O goodness there are about a billion things that go into planning a wedding even if it's a small one. The very first thing is get a photographer, especially if it's in the summer months because they get booked very quickly! Other big things to book are the cake person, the florist, the church, the reception hall if it won't be at the church, and the caterer if you choose to have one. Of course in the midst of all that there's the dresses (Bride, bridesmaids, and flowergirl). Then you have all smaller things like wedding favors, all the decor for the wedding and reception, invitation, programs, registering places, tuxes...and all the other smaller things. Like I said it's a big deal no matter the size of the wedding. Are you the maid of honor or just a bridesmaid? Bridal Showers can consist of different things. You can have one with just friends, church women, family, or a mixture of all. They can be anything from a shower giving gifts of what she registered for, a recipe party where everyone shares their fav recipes with the bride, and then the famous lingerie party which I opted not to have haha. I hope this helps ya out a bit Becky. Answer: Delaina, maybe we need to come up with list... and sticky it... gosh i'm pretty sure that when becky reads this, she'll freak out.. what more the bride? hehehe make sure to have a lot of rest too the day before the wedding... coz it'll be too tiring and you won't last the day of the wedding if you didn't get a good day's rest prior to it. HAVE AN ORGANIZER HANDY!!!! Answer: organizer.. LOL! that's probably going to be my job lol. Yes, I'm the maid of honor. thanks for the list! Could you explain in more detail about the bridal shower?? i've never attended one, so I know nothing about them. Answer: Again there are different types of bridal showers. The most typical one if where you invite friends and family and remember to include her fiance's family as well. You sit around and have girly type snacks like littel tea sandwiches, fruit with fruit dip, choclate covered strawberries, and any other little appitizer you can think of. Most important you have a pretty little cake and punch. At one of my showers the hostess had a mini 3 tear wedding cake. Then after the snacks you open gifts. Everyone brings a gift or a card with money or a gift certificate from places where the bride and groom have registered. Lastly, remember to decorate accourding to the wedding colors.
