lost marriage
Question: I am 32 and I was married 10 years. Recently I left my husband and realized that the man I once loved had been cheating on me for most of our married life. I have 3 daughters that I have custody of and take care of 24/7. When I got married I was 5'7 and weighed 130 lbs. Since then I am now 257 lbs and I feel my weight is the reason my husband stopped loving me. I was abused as a child verbally and physically. I feel like all my life I have had to struggle to be happy. I have been trying to create a new life for my girls and I. I got an apartment and I have a good job. I recently stopped going to church and started going out with friends on Fridays. I feel there is no one out there worthwhile. I feel because of my looks people judge me instead of getting to know the person that am. I also recently found out I am a diabetic and I don't take care of myself because I am angry that I am sick and my ex-husband is not. I am alone and he is not. I struggle with the bills he left me with. While his parents pay for everything he has. Anyhow I need prayer. What can I do. I just don't know what to do anymore. I'm praying right now,(I try to always pray) and will ask that you slow down, take a deep breath, and start with what you know is best for you. (daughters too) See a doctor for the medical treatment. (hope you have insurance) The bills are half the ex's. (hope he is paying support if not, see a lawyer. Some are free, and others will require the ex to pay.) The thing I wanted you to know the most, is that you are not alone, even when it feels like this.Talk to our heavenly Father, ask for strength to get through this. Talk to your church elders, they will help you. And last, C.G.R. has a Prayer request therad. (power in #'s) Answer: First, read the Bible. It is our source of peace, comfort and joy. Second, get back in church. Some particular verses that might be beneficial: Isaiah 40:27-31 Why do you say, O Jacob, And speak, O Israel: "My way is hidden from the LORD, And my just claim is passed over by my God"? Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint. Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. You say your ex is "not alone." Does that mean he has remarried or that he has a girlfriend? If he is not remarried, then I think you need to pray to God and ask for your marriage to be restored and then ask your husband to come back to you. God hates divorce and delights in reconciliation. I firmly believe that He can heal any marriage. Actually, I believe God can heal any hurt of any kind. Also, you seem to be quite jealous and resentful. You need to let that go; it will only bring you pain. God delights in a pure heart. Answer: Don’t worry about what other people think of you, when God looks at you He sees a perfect beautiful daughter! People are cruel and can’t see the truth, but your father sees you through Jesus. Seek God first and everything else will fall in place. I love you and wish I could give you a hug, I don’t even know you how much more do you think your Father loves you? Take care of yourself and get well God has a whole lifetime planned ahead of you, and it is greater than anything you could ever imagine! Peace Answer: Just because you don't look like a Playboy centerfold doesn't mean you're unattractive. Look at the people around you, most of us don't look like Greek gods/goddesses and the ones that do are the very small minority. As the old saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If your ex-husband's idea of beauty is only skin deep then he doesn't deserve to behold you. Hold out for the man that will see you for who you are. He's out there. I'm truly sorry for the life events you've experieced as of late. I can't say anything that'll make the pain go away and I won't pretend to understand your pain, but I am praying for you. Althought her hurt is totally understandable and it may take her awhile to get over everything. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
