frustrated... fast
Question: Ok, I'm kind of at the point where I get really frustrated really fast. Meaning that by if something gets hard to deal with I start to get mad and frustrated. Now, you will say that you can't just do that and give up but I've had it with somethings and I'm beginning to loose it really fast. And sometimes I'll say something and I don't really mean it and I don't know what comes out of my mouth until after I say it. And today, it went really bad in one of my classes. The teacher freeked out on me and I had to meet him after class. Then I got given the 20 minute lecture on how I need to find someone to talk to in the school that I can trust. And at this point I have no trust in about anyone in the school and that's apparently bad. But at one point I actually trusted people, but they've lost that and I get frustrated with people very easily. I'd kinda like to be able to change that so I'm not so short with people because it's not good and I know that. But I really don't know how anymore. Answer: Step 1: Grab your bible. Step 2: Secure a few hours to yourself alone. Step 3: Read your bible, focusing particularly on those portions relatinv to: loving your fellow man, doing unto others, living in peace, and prayer. It works for me. *shrug* Wind down with some good music afterwards. The uplifting variety. Jazz is my preference, particularly Brubeck, but whatever floats your boat works. See, I don't ususally have my bible with me and by the time I get home I'm doing a little better. I don't know what makes me so frustrated and mad and I'd really like to know. And as for the music, when I'm mad or whatever, I play the loudest music I can find in my room atm. Answer: Ahh. Well, here's the thing. Controlling things like that is a conscious effort. Being able to actively think about scriptural concepts and dwell on them is really, really helpful. As is choosing not to listen to the music that you like, but the music that you need in order to calm down and straighten yourself out. Pray for patience, both in private time and in the moment whenever it's needed. Bottom line: Pursue it. You can't wait for patience or a calm state of mind to just hit you. That isn't how things work. Answer: Are you under more than usual stress? Answer: Originally Posted by zapp196 Are you under more than usual stress? At some points yes, but latley no.
