Off To Cedarville!

Question:
(MODS: Not really sure where this thread belongs so feel free to move it to the correct section)
Hey boys and girls!
Hey i've been accepted to Cedarville University in Ohio for the fall semester and am really excited about heading out there. Probably will be majoring in Mech Engineering and playing soccer, so im really stoked!
Anyways, was just wondering if there was anyone here who attends/attended that school and what their thoughts were. Also really wondering about the housing situation (like where to stay) so if any of you are from there any advice would be helpful.
Thanks!
Jason
Answer:
No idea personally, but I have a friend who goes there, and she loves it.
Answer:
Hey Jason, I'm a junior at Cedarville so I can probably answer most of your questions. First off, ME is *hard*, especially if you're doing sports too. Just be aware of that heading in A lot of ME's change major by the end of their freshman year. Of the 9 in the Engineering department (ME, CE, EE, CS) in my unit this year and last year, only 3 are still in the Engineering department. That said, I know there are/were a few guys on the soccer team who had crazy hard majors, like ME, CE, physics, etc, so it is certainly possible. Just be prepared to be busy.
Be sure to get a good calc prof if you have any choice in the matter. Frey is crazy smart but hard. Braithwaite is difficult to understand but easy. I've heard good things about Roper -- that he's really smart and hard but a good teacher. I don't know much about Secore or the other lady.
For housing you'll probably end up on the Hill (Carr, Marshall, Rogers, Palmer) or in Lawlor. Traditionally, the Hill gets most of the engineers because it is close to the engineering building (ENS). It'll probably be easier to find people to help with homework, projects, etc. here. The Hill is also older and the rooms are small, but I've been here for two years now and I love it. It has a certain culture about it...
Lawlor just got renovated last summer and the rooms are bigger and have air conditioning. Not to mention a sweet lounge and it's closer to the chapel, student center and fitness center.
Brock is the jock dorm. Most of the soccer team -- upperclassmen, at least -- live there. But it is an upperclassmen so I'm not sure how likely you are to get in there.
The other dorms, Rickard, St. Clair, etc. are upperclassmen dorms. They're nice with big rooms and air conditioning, but again unlikely you'll get in as a freshman.
If you have any more specific questions, feel free to post back here or PM me!
