So is it true?
Question: Hm. Recently I went through a very odd experience that I'll sum up for information's sake. I found a girl I liked that liked me back. First time for everything, I suppose. Anywho, so we decided up front, with good advice from my parents (thank God I can talk to them freely...), that we wouldn't "date" or anything. We wouldn't be boyfriend/girlfriend or anything. Just friends who liked each other. By the way, before I continue, I'd like to ask that, unless you have actual helpful criticism, please refrain from commenting on this little story thing, 'cause it's all over already. Anyway! So, after a little while, it sorta fizzled and died... I guess I was a crutch for her 'cause she'd been going through crap at the time we met. I dunno, really, though. Anyway, we're good friends again, but this was making me think of some things... For one, it seems to be amazing how easy it is for us teens to confuse our feelings for someone. For example, there's this other girl I know that I thought liked me ('til yesterday, my sister said she didn't, so I'm really thankful for that), and, because of that, part of my emotions were trying to convince me I liked her in return, JUST because she liked me. I don't like her in that way, so I've got that to go on, but yeah. So I guess I'm asking for clarification. They say we teens confuse our feelings pretty easily... When do you not confuse your feelings? What is the "real" feeling? Answer: You know, I've been chewing on that question every single day for nearly 9 months now. Still haven't figured it out yet, though. It's nice to believe that at some point I'll "grow up" and things like this will make sense, but that's a silly thing to believe, nice though it is. Personally, I can name a number of people who are well beyond their teens who still confuse their feelings. One of them is nearly 40, and she's still holding out for "Mr. Right." Answer: I totally. My feelings are confused in some way or another most of the time. Answer: I figure you stop wondering whether she likes you or not after you're married. Answer: wow, I'm glad I don't have to deal with confused feelings, lol.... whatever the subtleties in those 2 words implies... Answer: Originally Posted by Rainer.
