Hey guys....Got another problem...How do i =get over some1....who's been part of my life for the last 8 years....The gurl i liked means alto to me...Then i asked for advice...people said let go and get over it....Now the problem is, I can't let go or don't know how.... Help Please =) Any advice will do Ty

Getting over someone isn't easy. A lot of people try to remain just as close, yet let the getting over happen with that person still playing a close role in their life. I've found that very difficult. Getting over someone happens whenever that person is reduced in your life. Backing off will change the situation significantly. If you don't cut communication and time together completely, it should be done about 90% of the way, otherwise you'll probably be in for a longer and harder road.
Others probably disagree with me, but I'm in the situation right now...I've tried both ways. I guess if option number one works, then you should do it, but I don't know that I've ever really seen that happen without a hard battle.

I've found that the only way to truely get over someone is to just cut ties with them. I've tried the whole break up and just be friends thing and it led to both of us just getting frustrated and eventually just giving up. When I broke up with my last girlfriend, I didn't talk to her or see her for over 5 months and we're now talking again and things are pretty good between us. So although complete seperation is usually necessary, it doesn't mean things won't work out in the future. You just need time to break you dependancy on that person.

I disagree with having to cut them out of your life altogether. Just lower your time spent with them. I had girlfriends in high school who started out as just friends. Yes, when we ended things it was awkward. And yes, as we went forth trying to remain friends afterwards, there were frustrations. But, as time went on, we were able to stand each other more and now (with one of them anyways) we're still good friends.

Don't dwell on her. What I mean by that is don't sit and think to yourself how much you need to get over her or how much she meant to you. When she comes to your mind, think about something else. The line between thinking about someone frequently and obessing over them is disturbingly fine.

sometimes wen someone tries to get over someone, the person has something to say to ther person that they are trying to get over. If you have something to tell her, tell her. If you really want to get over her and there is something in your chest that keeps you from letting the person go, tell the person what it is.

When that happened to me, i would shoot my eyes across the room and bring my attenention back onto the here and now. Then pray, ask god to help guard your mind against those thoughts.
And im having trouble getting over someone too... I thought i was over them, and then they came out, 30 seconds ago in fact, and i found out that they were seing someone else. Im confused and surprised as anything about how im reacting. I dont know what exactly im feeling, just that it hit hard...
