St. Valentine's DAY!!!!!!!!!
Question: Yeah. i know this thread is kinda cliche and expected, but what is everone getting for their significant others?? Myself.... I am making a heart shaped box out of paper mache, it is going to be an actual box with a hinge for the door. When you flip oer the door their will be a poem on the top of the door to her. It will, obviously, be filled with candy, adn there will be an old victorian key under th echocolate. glued to the botto of the box on the inside it will say "Now you hold the key to my heart" Alos, I would like some feedback on my present!! What does everyone think!! Critique me!!!!!!!!!1 Answer: I think that is an absolutely lovely idea. Answer: Hand-made gifts are always winners with me. The poem is a nice touch, and the candy is sure to be a hit. I personally would find the key thing kinda cheesy, plus there is the whole discussion we had in the other Valentine's Day thread about giving gifts that imply loving some one forever and whether you actually mean it... blah blah blah. But, yah... great idea! Answer: I'm just getting my gf a digital camera.....she's wanted one for a while. I was also thinking of bringing her a rose in the morning. Answer: A romantic evening together with my wife is all she wanted. No tv and a candle light dinner. Being married is good. Being single around the holidays is the best... you can save a ton of cash. Actually... being single is the best way to go. No need to worry about "did I say the right thing?", "I hope she likes this...", "Why is she upset?", "What's wrong with her, why won't she tell me?", No wasting money on dates/dinner/gifts that end up not being appreciated anyways, and the list goes on and on and never ends. Yes, single life is the cheaper and (more) stress-free life. Answer: Originally Posted by SilverNitrate What significant other? Befriend them... get to know them... Then once you start dating, you find out who they really are. They're nothing like the person you got to know as a friend. I've been burned (and burned others) too many times. I'd rather just stay single and not have to deal with any of that. I can do whatever I want, stay out as late as I want... I have no obligations to anyone else... there's so many positives of being single. If I do a pro/con list... single wins out every time. Did I mention it's cheaper than dating? NOT what this forum is for, really. (>_<) Further, I can do the pros/cons list as well and find more in favour of having someone. It's all a point of view thing. Answer: Valentine's Day is a horrible, nasty, overcommercialized holiday meant to pad the coffers of candy and card companies and if you need a day on the calendar to remind yourself to tell the people you love that you do in fact love them, then you have bigger problems than Hershey's or Hallmark can help you with. Yeah, so I don't like Valentine's Day so much... Yeah, so I don't like Valentine's Day so much... Oh, that's horrible! It's just a day that we can all celebrate love together! Of course, we show love to others not only on this day, but hey, if we have a chance to celebrate it, let's do it! :) I like to celebrate everything Answer: My valentines day will boost candle sales, and thats about it... And I will enjoy it. Answer: My Valentines gifts are only giving about $1.60ish towards extra Valentine Day sales. Thank you, Hallmark. The other $10ish I'm spending isn't really specifically a Valentines Day gift, per se. ~Jon Answer: Hey everybody! I have an idea. Let's NOT winge and complain about Valentines. (Or if you must, take it to your blog or something.) This thread is supposed to be about what you are getting your sweetheart (providing you have one) for Valentines. Answer: I've booked me and my valentine slots in a cocktail making class. He doesn't know what I've planned at all - all he knows is we're taking the train because we won't be able to drive after. He's convinced its a gig or dinner. Hehe. I considered a ride around on the 'Love Bus'* but unfortunately the Love Bus stops running before he gets off work. Too bad. *"Romantic St Valentine's bus tour with tales and songs of forbidden love, crimes of passion, elopement and love at first sight.
