Seminary in the south

Question:
I'm a first term sophomore considering teaching ministry such as youth or pastorship. I've got some time, but I wouldn't mind getting some thoughts on seminary before I have to start making decisions. What are everyone's thoughts on some of the more Baptist seminaries throughout the South: Southeastern, Samford, Southwestern in Texas, New Orleans, etc.? Just for info, I'm a Baptist at U of Alabama. Thanks in advance.
Answer:
Southeastern is flirting dangerously, or was, with losing its accreditation. I'd tread carefully there. The bottom line, I suppose, is where you fall on the doctrinal spectrum. If you're a committed Southern Baptist, then you'd probably do fine at Southwestern, or even at Southern. But if you're more moderate, then I'd absolutely consider places like Samford, Mercer, etc. It really depends on you.

Thanks, Wheat. That's really what I was looking for. I'm not really wanting someone to say, "Here random internet person, here's your seminary." I just need some help finding out perspectives on and quirks about the various seminaries. All other takers are welcome to respond
Answer:
Ok, here's for quirks. New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary makes you agree to not consume alcohol while you're a student there (even at home). A few people I know are in NOBTS's undergrad program, but I really don't know anything about their graduate program.

My school has a seminary extention on campus, and likes to hire people who've gone through New Orleans. My favorite professor went through it, for what that's worth.
Answer:
being from Alabama, I have had several friends go to Beason. Most of the people i know who either went to NO were happy about what they did. I've met a few the went to Southwestern and they all seemed to love it out in Texas. But as somebody already said its all about were on the specturm your beliefs fall.
