I suppose this belongs here...
Question: Okay. I am embarassed to ask this. But, none of you know me so, here I go. I have a problem with blackheads and small pimples on my arms, and partially on my back. Not a lot, but enough to make me not want to go swimming and such...or take my shirt off in front of other people. As HS kids can be rather mean at times. And I can't get rid of them. Which bothers me, as we are going to be having a ski trip (feb), and there is an indoor pool. Well, I really hate wearing a shirt in the pool, ya know? So if anyone can give me something to try to get rid of them? I know this probably sounds kinda sick, but, yeah. So, now I go away. ~Adam~ Answer: Originally Posted by adamkaboom Okay. Neutrogena: Body Clear is great for acne on the back, neck, chest, and other areas too. I used to work in the Health/Beauty & Cosmetics Departments at Wal-mart, and a lot of teenagers bought this. I had a lot of teenagers and young adults buy this :Phisoderm Clear Confidence Acne Body Wash. The guys say that this doesn't smell like a girls bodywash that the smell is pretty neutral. Clean & Clear makes Continuous Control Body Wash, and it was rather new when I switched departments, but in the first few weeks we had a palethora of kids waiting to try this, we could barely keep it on the shelves. One kid said it worked good, because you could put it on the area you needed to get the acne off, and it actually helped clear it up. Go to your local drugstore, and look for a bodywash that has Resorcinol and/or Sulfur. (These are the acne medications), or benzoyl peroxide (which is the most common acne medication). You could also try to find body products with Skinoren aka Azelaic Acid (a less harsh acne medication, more expensive and harder to find as well). Answer: i dont kno how sensitive your skin is, but theres a product called stringent. i think its a generic kind of thing. its a harsh type of thing. but it works wonders. drys out the skin a bit, but nothing a little lotion cant fix. Answer: Okay. Thanks you 2. I'm to the point now I'll try almost anything. And I do have some stringent...but I only used it on my face. I guess I can try. Whats the worst that could happen? Answer: I feel your pain man. But I had the whole body hair thing, and not acne. It's something you are going to have to get over, eventually. Took me a few years. But I am over it now. Answer: im just starting to grow boobie hair, and its weird. i cant stop pulling on it. Answer: Originally Posted by Andrew I feel your pain man. But I had the whole body hair thing, and not acne. Go to a dermatologist and ask about Acutane. I'm currently on my last month, and it's worked great. By three months, you should be pretty much clear, but you still have a 5 month course to make sure it won't come back. I don't know if you're up for that, though. Answer: I would definitly go to a pharmacist or chemist and ask them. Don't be embarressed! So many teenagers go through this. It's you body trying to cope with the constant change in hormones. Practical things are to drink lots of water, shower in the morning and evening if you sweat alot, wear loose cotton clothing and don't scratch them or burst them. Exfoliate to get rid of dead skin cells..... the best thing! Answer: Go see a dermatologist. They are professionals for a reason. There are pills that they can prescribe that are much stronger and effective than over the counter stuff, and they have over 300 different creames and ointments that they can give you.
