Vulgarity

Question:
Can anyone help me find some sort of official list of vulgar/profane words in the English language? In the agreement I sign for Bible College, it says I have to refrain from using vulgarity and profanity, and being somewhat of a "policy terrorist", I would like to have a list of officially vulgar/profane words with credibility; something I can fall back on when I'm challenged for using words that aren't on the list.
Anyway, it would be interesting to see which words are or aren't on the list. I'm having difficulty finding one.

most schools don't have one. Is your attitude right though?
Answer:
My advice would be to truly seek to let know unwholsome communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying. (I feel like a hypocrite saying that, the last night at Moody I cussed someone out in front of the RD who was being beligerent with me)
Answer:
Like Bill said in the previous post, it's best to refrain from saying anything that could even be considered a cuss word. I know that'd be tough, but it's definetly good practice
About the specifics on what's considered "vulgar language", that will differ from person to person and list to list. If you really want to know, call up the college and ask them to what extent you must refrain from language.
Answer:
Wow. Actually, that sounds about right. Several times in my life I've been an addictive swearer, so I know what it feels like to have a word just "slip". If you're accustomed to saying it, you don't even have to think about it, and it's like it came out of your mouth, but you didn't hear it until after you said it, because it comes so naturally.
Some people may, due to brain damage, lose the ability to speak/pronounce all regular words but retain the ability to swear. Sorry, but I find that ammusing
Answer:
haha this is great. interesting stuff....
but so far everyone's missed the point a little. i'm looking for this list because i want to find words that are NOT on it, that seem to offend. you know...words that, when i use them, people will be surprised to see that they aren't on the list. or...vice versa; words other people use that might be on the list. it's more of a thing of mischief than something that i need to help me avoid offending people.
if i want to avoid offending people, i'll take demon_hunter's advice.
Answer:
Ah. I see. You want to be riding the line of what's legal and what isn't In that case, I'd still advise you to call up the college, and maybe they'll have a list of words you can't say.

Oh, I got your point alright, its just unbiblical.
Answer:
My school has some vague policy about profane/vulgar speech under the heading of "indecent expression" in the handbook. I know of one person who has had to go to "cursing counseling" (I kid not), but it's never been enforced outside of that incident two years and two presidents ago.

I cant imagine there is any sort of official list at all. And even if it was why would your school care about some outside list that claims to be official. I imagine the point of the policy is for people to keep their langauge clean and I imagine they expect people to keep well on the clean side of any grey areas.
One of the issues with lists like this is that if the words are offensive why would be people want to write them down or distribute them. I imagine they think you are old enough to be able to figure it out on your own.
Answer:
without seeing the list, i can't tell you what's not on it
