I have a general question that needs to be answered. When getting online, if a girl doesnt IM you does it mean she doesnt like you? I know me and her are friends but sometimes she doesn't IM me...thanks in advance!

If she doesn't talk to you at all when you are on IM, she probably is just not interested.

IM is weird. I remember being very confused about how girls felt about me because of it. You should stick to real life encounters or phone conversations to gauge their feelings for you.

maybe she is busy, maybe her aim auto logs in, it could be a whole host of things. I would put as much stock in this as I would in 8 track technology.

Everyone has it pretty well correct here. It's likely nothing. I never start conversations over IM. It's just a personal thing to myself.
How often do you try to initiate a conversation with her over IM?

ya.....maybe she's waiting for you to be the first one to say something.....or else she's busy......or not at the computer........or just doesn't want to take the time to talk......or else she's talking to someone else.........
don't take it seriously.....its only IM......its crazy how much different people act the next day if something happened while talking.....unless they live in saskatchewan and you can't afford to phone long-distance or dont know their phone number.........then sometimes IM or email is the only way to keep in touch..........

sometimes i dont IM people BECAUSE i 'like' them [in a respecting sort of 'like'] and therefore do not want to waist their 'precious' time. and instead wait to see if they want to talk to me. AIM is tricky when it comes to feelings. i have too often hid behind smiley faces when i was truly angery or upset.

I completely agree with this and have had similar experiences as Doug here in regards to chatting on IM (all before i met/got married to my husband of course). Besides, face to face, or even phone to phone is just so much better. And this is coming from someone who met her husband online (this website, in fact).
