eating
Question: i need some help. my girlfriend is going through this phase where she doesn't want to eat, she doesn't realize that she's not eating, she likes it, and she doesn't care about it. i've scared her by being so upfront and outspoken against it. i may have come on too strong about it, but i'm afraid for her. she told me that she wants to be weaker. she's grown up being a person who's had it rough...with a mother who tried to make her take random medications, a lot of cheating within the family, a lot of issues with stalkers and really bad situations with guys, etc. she's a great girl, it just seems as if life really has laid the smack down on her. i love her so dearly, but i fear that i've come across too strong. i have told her my thoughts on what she's going through (i believe she is under spiritual attack...why else would she want to be weaker not only physically, but spiritually?). what does one do in a situation like this? if it came down to it...even though she wouldn't like it at all, i would force her to eat. i need help...and prayer. If this is related to the way she thinks then you should never mention looks. Don't focus on what she looks like even if you think she looks great. People have become anorexia because people have complimented the way they look. Answer: it's not about that. she told me that she wants to be weaker spiritually so that she can finally have a break from people depending on her. that's what i've gotten from her, at least. sometimes she likes to shell up and not be too straightforward. is this common? she is a very strong person, and a lot of people, including myself, really admire her and look up to her for all the crap she's been through and all that she means to people, and what she does FOR people. Answer: You know I have had this problem before. What I needed was someone there hounding me to do the right thing.. I did have someone, and then I was angry and mad because the person kept pushing me, now I am SO grateful whenever I think of that person. They cared enough to even have me dislike/distaste them, because of their concern. It will need a lot of prayer. Answer: ok, update. she has gotten to the point that she will eat. but she only eats because she knows that it's what i want her to do. she says that she still feels fat and lazy and dirty after eating, no matter how much it is. i don't know what to do. coming from a guys standpoint, i'm on the opposite of the spectrum. i have no problem eating way too much, so this is foreign to me. any ideas? i don't know if i want her to eat and feel like crap, or feel good and end up having health issues.
