Fairly urgent situation regarding our homeschool curriculum recording ($$$)
Question: We get our homeschool video curriculum via satellite and record it onto a DVD harddrive. Or, at least, we did. Until the thing DIED on us last night. This thing cost a lot of money, getting all the classes we are missing will cost a lot of money, and getting back up and running will cost a lot of money. Money we really don't have. To make matters worse, we're supposed to be backing up a family that's in the process of moving! So, all I can say is please pray that this will get resolved fast and without a lot of money down the tubes. I've already missed my live class for today. I'll let you know what happens. Answer: Well, we've got it back to working condition, but we've lost everything that was on the hard drive. This is getting expensive. *sigh* Not sure what's going to happen now. Answer: I'm so sorry rosebud!! I'll definitely be praying for you. That sucks :-( Where do you get the curriculum from? Any possibility you could call them and explain the situation and work something out? Answer: We get it from Bob Jones University: HomeSat. We have the option of asking other HSat users to send us disks of the classes we missed, but the recorder issue is going to cost a bunch. Also, we can't get all the stuff we need from the other HSatters, so we'll need to buy them from BJU direct. And they already charge a reasonable price. I'm not sure that they would give us any discount. Answer: What courses do you specifically need stuff replaced from BJU? is there any way you could stall getting those materials until a little bit later, when you've had a chance to get some of the money together? I really hope this all works out for you! If my family had used BJU I would contact them to see if they could help, but they use other curriculums and stuff Answer: I'm not sure. We're behind in pretty much everthing, so it isn't that urgent except for what the other family was counting on us. What's really sickening is the amount of work that was lost on my mom's part and all the headaches she's had over that thing. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
