Richard, Peggy and Jacob
Question: Please pray for Richard and Peggy from our church. Three weeks ago they were rounding up buffalo in South Dakota when Richard's stirrup broke. He flew one way and his horse flew another, resulting in six broken ribs and a badly punctured lung. His lung has decided not to heal for some reason. He went back into the hospital on Saturday because he said that it didn't feel like the lung was working at all. They admitted him into the ICU and took out 5 litres of blood. He had another surgery yesterday and shortly afterwards had a heart attack. Things are not going well for him. He has been a believer for many years, but Peggy just became one about a month ago. Her son has been coming to youth group for about three years and God is really moving in this young man's life. It has been amazing to watch her come to Christ as a result, but her young faith, and the young faith of her teenaged son, is being tested. Please pray for healing for Richard, strength for Peggy and Jacob's faith and an overwhelming sense of God's plan, peace and love. Answer: Wow...praying. Answer: I will be praying for them. Answer: Richard has been taken off the ventilator. He is still in ICU and though he has greatly improved, his lung still continues to bleed a lot. It sounds like he may not be the best patient in the world. He is antsy to leave, which is just silly to even be thinking about right now. Peggy is doing okay. She has health issues of her own, but apparently a new medication is helping. Answer: Update: Rich is home and doing okay. He has been forced into retirement, which his wife, who as I said is a new believer, considers a blessing as his job was very, very stressful. He is still on oxygen at home. I'm not sure for how long. His present condition is pretty amazing considering how many close calls he had. His heart has been through a lot. Thank you, Lord, for your faithfulness!
