Welcome to www.thanktoday.com !!!

Dustin is dying. Please pray for his wife and my friend Elizabeth.

Question:
Rachael and Dustin, this is a very young couple, they are only in their 20's. Anyways Dustin was diagnosted w/ Leukhemia and, as I even type this out, he is, no questions asked, seriouly on his death bed now. My friend Elizabeth, who knows both Rachael and her husband more closer than I do, has told me yesterday that Dustins health is getting worse and worse, and he looks like he is on the last string of fighting for his life. He looks like he's on the edge of meeting his Lord. Rachael is just too young to be a widow and she, of course, has not been taking this very well at all. Please pray for her and my friend Elizabeth as they are both struggling struggling in this as well.
Things have gotten so worse w/ Dustin that he's in a medical coma right now and now the doc's are saying that there's no hope anymore, they are trying to do what they only can and in the best way they can. It will take a miricle of God to bring him out of this situation and into normalcy. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep this man in your prayers so that God will heal him. And as things are taking a very bad twist here, please keep me in your prayers as well. You see Elizabeth is more than a best friend to me, she is my sister in Christ, she's always there for me when I'm at my lowest and need prayer. Please pray that God will just give me the words of some kind of comfort when I talk to her every time either I call her or she calls me.
I really can't speak for Dustins wife, Rachael because she's on a different level when it comes to this. She's married and I'm not, so please also pray that when I do get another chance to see Rachael that God will give me the right words to say, that I'm not going to come off in a sense of hopelessness. I don't know about Rachael at this point, but I do know that, after asking (not in a rude of hopeless manner) Elizabeth if she was okay w/ Dustin possibly meeting his Lord she said "no I'm not, but his life is not in my hands either. Its in God's."
I just don't want to see my best friend leave her faith if worst comes to worst. So I really need prayer and a lot of advice. I had the same thing happen to me in the past w/ my step brother in law and am now having to deal w/ the same thing again w/ my friend Sarah Allen (who also needs prayer for healing as well.) But w/ my step brother in law the outcome came out to be that he was (and I'm not kidding either) healed by a mircle or God. So if anyone here went through something like this if you guys would have any kind of advice on how I can best talk to my friend and comfert her. thatd be really great.

Answer:
I will pray for this young couple, and for you and Elizabeth as well. When the doctors say "there is no hope", they are talking about life here on earth. As Christians, we know that there IS hope! The hope is in life eternal, when this couple will be reunited with each other and with Jesus Christ. Hearts will be broken, yes - that is the sad part. I will pray for comfort for all of you.

Thats the thing that I'm having a hard time telling my friend Elizabeth. To her I get the vibe that I sound like there's no hope at all you know? And this is where I need more prayer.

Okay, I will pray for you and Elizabeth. People often get confused during these times and think that accepting that the person probably won't live means giving up hope. If she is a Christian, she might go through a phase where she is angry with God, but eventually she will come back to the Truth. You will probably never know in this lifetime why God chose to have Dustin here for such a short time. That's where faith comes in - knowing that He has a plan, even if we don't know what the plan is.
Still praying for all of you.

Ever heard the song called "I still believe?" by Jeremy Camp? He wrote that song right after his wife passed away. I was reminded of it when reading in here.
I will be praying.

I just found out, today, that Dustin died early Saturday morning. And I think that Liz got what I meant when I asked her if she was okay w/ Dustin being w/ the Lord. She doesnt seem to be upset w/ God but I did tell her to call me any time of the day and night if she can't sleep because she's now grieving w/ Rachael. I told her to give Rachael my number as well. So now that he's w/ the Lord please continue to pray for Rachael because now she's pretty much feeling alone and all that stuff.
