Question:
Due to some complicated issue, today at school, I got the crap beaten out of me by four guys. I have a hairline fracture in my wrist and I'm pretty bruised all over. I also kind of pushed 2 of them into a river, so please pray for me to not find the need to fight back and for healing.

I'll pray, but I think you should also file a report with the police. Fighting is not normal, acceptable school behavior. It's assault, and it needs to be dealt with.

i beg to differ. He's in grade 9, fighting is almsot a normal school thing. There are many fights in that gradeish, or at least where i'm from. I guess when you get older and and higher grades, your at the age where it is assult. maybe its too slack where i'm from. But then again, if you get hurt bad, it should be delt with. Especially when its also a mugging like it sounds, so ya, i changed my mind. You probably should file an assult thing.

Well, there are two differents meanings of the word "normal." I realize that it is perfectly "normal" in the sense that it happens all the time, but it is NOT normal in the sense of being acceptable, appropriate, or just part of growing up. Fighting is completely unacceptable. To me, even at grade 9, it is assault and should be dealt with by the police.

There was a kid in my school, he was in grade 9 when i was in grade 8, and he was always fighting. him and my friend got in a fight, jsut a punch each pretty much, and thsi was the last draw, the police got involved. So, i guess once i think about it, it is serious. But i'm the kind of guy whop would fight if i feel the need to kind of thing. i know i shouldn't, but if i'm pushed, i push back. And i need to work on that obviously.
But i'm from small town, where these things are more easily soreted, its hard to get away with a crime like that and not be found out.

I hope it never gets to another round of fighting... (steps up on soap box, taps microphone)... but I would suggest filing a police report when something like this happens... That way, if there was a round 2 (it might be more severe) the police would know that you're not at fault, and this is an on-going thing...
One day, you might get into a rumble with the wrong people... if the first bout was never reported, the police might not know where to look if all they have is a body...

I used to fight a lot, and got whipped by like 8-10 guys in the neighborhood I stayed in... the police didn't know that it had been happening for months (1 or 2 guys at a time)... Then they ganged up on me, and I couldn't really do much, b/c the prior times hadn't been reported, so the police gave them a warning...

You've definetly got a point, but this isn't like gang-banging or anything. They were just mad that I got their drugs taken away.
They've been suspended from the school for awhile from the whole drug thing, and I've run into them a few times on my way home from school, but I haven't had any problems with them.
