Hmm, this something of a long term prayer request, but if you can pray for the future once now that's ok too I have a friend who is pretty much like a sister to me. She's the sibling I never had: her mother calls me her other daughter, just to impress upon you just what she means to me. This year, I'm a senior and she and I are leaving for college, and it's highly likely that we will not go to the same schools (she wants a huge university, I want a small liberal arts college). Pray that our friendship will last; I'd say that we have a very strong friendship, and we've promised to each other that we'd continue to know one another. My friend is very good about keeping her promises (hasn't broken one yet!) but as we all know, life happens and things get thrown at you.
I also have a second friend, with whom me and this first friend are like sisters with as well (the three of us have known each other since...yeah, forever). Actually, that friend is Wonder Woman (yeah, remember her?). Wonder Woman has made not as many promises as the first friend has, but I'd love to keep in touch with her as well. It's a lot more likely I'd lose her. So pray for that too.
I've got no other friends that I'd die without keeping in touch with, but these two are like family to me. If you could keep us in your prayers, I'd...give you a huge hug, or a kiss, or a cookie, or something. Heh.

I will pray for you Jen. If you all want your friendship to continue, there's no reason why it can't. The internet can be wonderful for that! It will be different, but God has a plan for you, so just trust that He will work this out for you.
