Addiction

Question:
i have this problem, i don't want to say what it is. You could call it an addiction, i'm a christian but i keep doing this thing that is a sin. every time i do it i last longer without doing it because of the guilt and the fact that i am disobeying God. But i still need prayers pretty badly to stop it. So if you ever have some spare time and don't know what to do could you pray for me?
Answer:
yes I will. I know how living like that is, and it really sucks. I am praying for you.
Answer:
I will pray for you, and I would also like to offer just a bit of advice, even though you didn't ask for it specifically. These are some fairly concrete steps that help with breaking most any bad habit, maybe they will help you.
1.Have you decided for sure that you want to break this addiction? That may sound like a stupid question, but you need to answer it. This is going to be hard work. Don’t expect God to just take away the desire, you are going to work hard at this.
2.Is there a time or place that triggers your behavior? If you aren’t sure, you should start keeping a journal to see if you can figure out what’s triggering the desire. If you know, try to avoid the trigger.
3.This is very important: plan now for what you are going to do instead of engaging in this activity. Prayer is wonderful, but you will probably need to find something to physically do to break away from this. Go for a walk and pray, ride a bike, call a friend – remove yourself from the physical place you are when you are tempted.
4.Try not to let your thoughts go too far before redirecting them. It is easier to step away before your thoughts are fully engaged. Decide what you are going to replace your thoughts with. Prayer? That’s great. What prayer? The Lord’s Prayer? Reciting the 23rd Psalm? Excellent. Plan now for what you will think about instead of engaging in this addiction
Philippians 4:8
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Answer:
ill be praying. And also for me the best thing that worked for me is to fast to bring my appetites under control and clear my mind which allows me to get my mind focused on God. I hate (trying) giving advice cuz i usually need it more than NE one, but i hope it helps, it helped me.

Answer:
Even without knowing what you are stuggleing with, I can say that it is hard to stop any behavior, there are things I have done -somedays still do- that I know are wrong, I too can go longer without doing it, when the guilt eats me. I even tried once "promiseing God that I would never do it again," but then I end up falling down again. I know that God always forgives us though .even though we can't understand that kind of love, its there. I know that it is hard, but we can over come anything the devil has.. with prayer and some hard work, I am praying for you... YOU CAN DO IT!!!!! ~stand-fight-win
Answer:
thanks, your prayers have worked, i've had cahnces to let into temptation again, but i fought it and didn't do it.
Answer:
