okay, i just came back from church.. and the strangest thing happened during worship. We were all prasing God, and we were about to pray when this lady (she has had a history with mental illnesses.. and perhaps demon possesions... she has also attempted suicide).. started laughing real loud, then right after that she started crying very loudly and screaming.. she screamed for a couple mins and at the time the pastor was telling her to be quiet and the whole congregation started praying for her.. some of the members of the church placed their hands on her head and started praying for her.. she then ran to the front of the church still screaming. Then both Pastor's at our church and the Pastor's wife prayed for her, and after a couple mins she stopped.. Later on during testimony time she said that she had felt something crawl up her leg, and it made her laugh.. and cry..
This is my first time seeing anything like this, and i am not sure if she was just going crazy, or actually possessed by a demon.. i was always under the impression that such events didn't take place in first world countries.. but whatever it was.. it had me a little scared for a while. Please say a prayer for mary.. (the lady i was talking about)

Seeing that you guys were about to pray and that she is possibly demon possessed, It could of been an attempt to stop the praying, but I dont know, I will definatly be praying for her.

Well, if that lady from akshay's church was demon-possessed at the time, then I'd say that answers the question. Any demon can go into any building it wants, church building or not. Just because it's specifically a church building doesn't mean that there's this invisible big flaming sword that's blocking the demon's path in. What makes the difference is whether or not God is truly exalted in the fellowship of the believers who attend there, and if the Holy Spirit is present in that church building, the demons are going to have some trouble when they try to come in. So yeah I agree with Jared, and I based it a bit on his comment on the synagogues,because at the times the religious leaders were legalistic and corrupted. Just being a church or synagogue building isn't enough. As a matter of fact, without God, what they are doesn't even matter and might as well be a roller skating rink. So yes, once again, a demon can enter into the buildings, but what makes the difference in what they can and can't do is whether or not the Holy Spirit is there.

I've never read in the bible that demons don't come to nice places and torment people that aren't necesarilly poor. Ephesians 6:12,"For we are not wrestling with flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the despotisms, against the powers, against [the master spirits who are] the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spirit forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) sphere." Demons don't think in our natural and physical ways, but they do manifest sometimes physically, like what you were talking about with the thing with her leg. They attack mainly spiritually. Whose to say that a person in a 1st world country is any better off, spiritually, than a person in a 3rd world country. There are the same number of demons now than there were in the Bible times. They haven't disappeared. It would be foolish to state that there isn't demonic oppression in America, or any other 1st world country for that matter. Look at all of the liberal concepts dragging our country down in this day in age. Look at the war in Iraq. Yes, we Americans, are fighting for the just cause, but look at the hatred for Christians on the other side. What did we do to the muslims? This hatred isn't of flesh and blood, but of powers and principalities of this present darkness. These muslims are relentless in there hatred. This is demonic. But we too often overlook the demonic activity at our own back door. Pornography is spreading rapidly, sexual and physical abuse destroys lives everyday. 5 people commit suicide every hour in America. Drugs torment millions of people. Adultery is all too common. And what is the modern church doing about it? The time has come for Christians to stand up for what they believe and to show love to their neighbors. But moreso to love their enemies. For we do not struggle with flesh and blood, but with powers and principalities in this spiritual war we currently face!!! SATAN HAS SLIPPED INTO OUR HOUSE AND ATTACKED OUR WORLD WITHOUT US EVEN REALIZING THAT IT IS HIM!!! We think that when a person who was once a Christian and has backslidden has just gotten lazy. But I say that he has given into the Temptor, Satan. Genesis 4:7 "(1) If you do well, will not your countenance be lifted up? (2) And if you do not do well, sin is crouching at the door; and its desire is for you, (3) but you must master it." Satan is waiting for an open door. AMERICA HAS ITS DOOR WIDE OPEN!!! Your obligation as a Christian is to help people in need to shut their doors. Your current obligation is to encourage others to follow Jesus. To realize that he is the way, the truth, and the light and that NO ONE comes to the father but through Him. KEEP IN MIND THAT IT IS A SPIRITUAL BATTLE THAT WE FIGHT EVEN IN OUR 1ST WORLD COUNTRY. Yes even here. In a way, the 3rd world countries are better off spiritually. Yep. They know that they need help. America doesn't even realize that she's in trouble. She doesn't even realize that while she's romping around having a good old time, living for fun and entertainment, that she left the door wide open to sin and to demonic attacks. IT IS TIME THAT WE BEGIN SHUTTING DOORS!!! We must, and God help us all.

oh and by the way i definitely will be praying for her. I'm sorry if that message i sent sounds a little hard, but it isn't directed at you. I'm just to emphatic on this subject. I hate satan! He uses distraction to catch everyone attention to prevent God from receiving his much cherished praise. It is important to realize that behind much of the drama and problems that we see socially and psychologically is involved with the demonic realm and its a shame that so many Christians don't realize the authority that they have been given by Christ when he died for them.
John 14:13-14
And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
If we ask with the right motives for someone who is demon possessed to be set free, then Jesus will do it so that the Father will receive the glory and not us. We must never think that we are something because we have cast demons out. For we didn't do it, we just obeyed God. IF YOU GIVE GOD PERMISSION TO USE YOU AND YOU OBEY HIM WITH PURE MOTIVES THEN THE ANOINTING AND POWER OF GOD WILL BE ABUNDANT IN YOUR LIFE.
