Question:
Please pray for God's direction in my life. I'm 23 and "just working" right now, in a retail type setting dealing with technology. I'm just so unsure of everything. What God wants for my future; What I am to do career-wise; When I will actually make a real Christian friend or friends who really do care; When I will meet and become friends with the future wife God has for me, who will accept me for who I am regardless of 'status'. I've been considering furthering my education in technology, if God wills. That seems to be the area that I am rather gifted in. I did terrible grade-wise in high school and did not attend college afterward, so that kind of limits me. Because even a tech school...in order to get a 'degree' you have to have your old high school send transcripts to wherever you are applying. I feel daily that my life doesn't seem to be accomplishing anything useful. My family is not Christian, I have no real friends in person...in spite of having been attending church for like a year. I'm just lonely and tired of struggling with so many sins that I am having trouble breaking free from. Please pray that God will show me in a way that I can know and understand, what He wants for me. Hi Jesse! You sound like a ship lost at sea. But the great thing is, you aren't lost at all. God knows exactly where you are and He has a plan for you.
He said so!
"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."Jer. 29.11
If you feel that God has given you a gift related to technology and you enjoy that, I would suggest you set your feet in that direction and march toward that goal. If that isn't God's plan, he will surely put up barriers for you. Have you considered starting with a community college? They usually aren't as concerned with grades, and it gives you an opportunity to sort of "redeem yourself" from your high school challenges.
