Bear with me for a moment while I explain this.
The worship band that I play with, The Spices of the Merchant, is planning a concert tour this summer. This tour will be for three works starting with the last week in July, and will take us through all of Ontario. We are from a church in Kenora, in Northwestern Ontario, and belong to he Baptist Convention of Ontario (for those of you who don't know, Ontario is a province in Canada that is about twice the size of Texas.) Being that Ontario is such a large province, Northwestern Ontario is somewhat seperated from Southern Ontario where all the major centres are. Since we are so seperated from the large churches of our convention in the bigger cities, our churches in Northwestern Ontario are quite often left out of decision making processes and things like that, so the point of this tour is 1. Because we like playing music, obviously, and 2. to help promote the churches of Northwestern Ontario to the rest of our convention.
Ok, so here's the prayer request portion of this.
We have 9 band members, 1 sound man, at least 4 family members of band members, and all our equipment to bring along with us, so just getting in our cars and going isn't really an option. We need to figure out our transportation. We've been looking at buses and vans, but none of us have the funds readily available to pay for either of these. Paying for fuel along the way is also an issue. I know this isn't a life or death situation, and it probably seems a little selfish, but prayer that some form of transportation would be found would be very much appreciated, as well as for the goal of our tour.
