Prayer for friend's brain surgery (formerly:Urgent Prayer Request)
Question: Right near the beggining of the year my best mate had a serious car accident. He smashed the left side of his skull, and was on life support for several weeks, the doctors said if he survived he would be severly brain damaged and would not speak or walk or function normally again. After being in hospital and a rehab centre for months he was released, he could walk, and he could talk(fairly decently) and he was functioning normally. Praise God for the miracle. TODAY they are operating on him again. They are reinserting the smashed part of his skull which they pieced back together. Please pray for these things: 1. The surgery will be a sucsses. Any brain surgery is dangerous but please pray for the Lord's hand to be upon him and the surgerons. 2. That his body won't reject the skull they are reinserting but that the healing process would begin immediately. 3. That there would be no infection and they would not have to remove the skull. At the moment because part of his skull is missing he has to wear a special hard helmet. Could everyone pray that it is sucssesfull so that they don't have to operate again and put in a synthetic skull. Thank you very much. Answer: I'm praying.. Answer: PRAYING! Psalm 119:76 NKJV) Let, I pray, Your merciful kindness be for my comfort,According to Your word to Your servant. Galatians 6:2 (NKJV) Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Answer: Ill be praying for the situation... Answer: Sorry for taking so long to update everyone. The surgery went extremly well. The doctors told his family that they had not expected it to go as well as it did. After the surgery he was pretty sore, but was only on pain killers for 6 days. Also before going into surgery he was told by the people helping him with his rehab (speech etc etc) that he should expect his progress to go backwards for a bit after the surgery, but it seems that after the surgery it has actually gone forwards and he continues to improve. Thank you very much for your prayers. Answer: That is just wonderful, Simo. Is your friend a Christian? Answer: Originally Posted by MtlMom That is just wonderful, Simo. Is your friend a Christian? Yeah he is. He was wandering a bit before the accident, but after he knows God saved him from death, and he is pretty full on. Answer: We praise God for His wisdom and guidance for our brother and your friend Simo! God has amazing promises for each of us that even go far beyond physical healing, but when He does this it reminds me of Jesus walking amongst us here on Earth 2000 years ago. He is soo amazing! Isaiah 55:12-13 (NASB) 12 "For you will go out with joy And be led forth with peace; The mountains and the hills will break forth into shouts of joy before you, And all the trees of the field will clap their hands. 13 "Instead of the thorn bush the cypress will come up, And instead of the nettle the myrtle will come up, And it will be a memorial to the LORD, For an everlasting sign which will not be cut off." "Gratitude is an offering precious in the sight of God, and it is one that the poorest of us can make and be not poorer but richer for having made it." A.W.
