Found something weird
Question: I found a lump on my person...it's on my abdomen, just above my....private area. I can't feel anything there, when it's touched, poked, prodded or squeezed there's no feeling of pain, no tingling sensation, nothing! It's like I'm not touching it at all! It's about the side os a pencil eraser, and I want to get it checked out. I told my mom, and she got upset. We can't afford to go to the doctor. $300 just for a check-up, she told me. And the lump has grown a bit in the past month I don't know what it is, and my mom doesn't either. I haven't mentioned this to anyone, not even my closest friends because I know they'll make a big deal. Please pray that we can get the money to find out what this thing is soon!!!! I'm really worriedabout it, because if it ends up having to be removed, whatever it is, we might not be able to afford it. Both of my parents work at Wal-Mart and however cool that is, Wal-Mart employees don't get paid much. I work, and i offered to pay for it, but my mother refused. She doesn't want me paying my own doctor bill just yet I suppose. Just...please pray. I want the lump checked out very very soon. I don't have a church home so I can't ask them to pray for me. everyone else will make a big deal out of it and get all weird or might try and have me removed or something.(from my home.) I sincerely need you to pray. ~~Kayla~~ Answer: Originally Posted by Soulfire900 I found a lump on my person...it's on my abdomen, just above my....private area. In Canada we have government-subsidized health care, so I'm not familiar with the system in the US. However, I'm sure some of our American posters can give you some more practical advice. In the meantime, praying. God bless, Kayla Answer: I'll be praying, Kayla. Answer: If you can't afford it, just go to the emergency room and don't pay the bill. Seriously, go. Answer: You can always go and tell them that you are concerned about it and have no money to pay right now but are willing to make payments. Lumps of any sort are of great concern to Dr.'s and people, so I might even ask my mom if I could front the money to pay for it now, and she could pay you back when she gets some money, or even make payments to you. But I don't think that it is something you need to wait on. You should try and go to the Dr. now. I am praying for you! Word. as bad as it sounds my friend has done it several times, seriously not able to pay. Praying for you. -In Prayer- Answer: Thanks. I just am really worried. When my mom gets back from work I'll ask her what we can do. It just scares me. Thanks for caring, ya'll. Answer: Yes, it's true - the law is called EMTALA, and basically it says that any person who goes in to an emergency room is entitled to a medical screening exam and treatment to manage any emergency situation, regardless of ability to pay. So - you could certainly get an exam in an emergency room, but they would probably refer you to your regular doctor for treatment if they felt that it wasn't an emergency after the exam. Kayla, I'm a registered nurse. Would you mind if I PM'd you to talk to you about this? Answer: praying for you. i have a lump like that too. in my case, its nothing but i hope you can get it checked out just in case it is something. Answer: Ill be praying for you. this could be a tumor which could be 2 things. cancerous, or not. (maybe im stupid) it could possibly be but im no doctor. My mom said she would talk about it with my father (who doesn't, at this point, know) 2 days ago....still no word. But yes, I'd like to hear from you. Answer: Okay, good.
