Muslim Prayer Focus
Question: this was supposed to be for 30 days, but i received this 'Muslim Pray Focus' booklet really late so now it's down to the 22nd day the Muslims are supposed to be on a fast or something right now. Muslims cover the earth from Africa to South Asia... But anyway, today's country/state/region to pray for: Saharanpur, India This city has a 45% Muslim commmunity. It is famous for wooden handicrafts that are exported thoughout the world. The city is divided into two sides, Muslim and Hindu, and there are no Christian churches on the Muslim side but there are some on the Hindu side. Pray that the churches on the Hindu side will have the courage to reach the Muslim side, because the Muslims repel the practices that has made the word of Christ understandable to the Hindus. Pray that the missionaries will bring people to Christ in the city (they are mainly focusing on the Muslim side) Pray also that the citizens' "holy men" will turn to God instead. Answer: Rahashana (sp) is what is going on. I've been doing this during school so I am praying. Pierced* Answer: ...God may nothing stop your word from being understood and may many Muslims be open to your word and the love you have for them. Amen. Answer: Kyrgyzstan A country slightly smaller than the United Kingdom. It came under Russian rule in the 1800s and the Kyrgyz nomads fought back but hundreds of thousands wree forcibly settled, driven into China or killed. Kyrgyzstan was independent from Russia in 1991 and went back to a traditional lifestyle after awhile. The Hindu population is steadily growing, with villages having their own mosque. It is sad to say that the Kyrgyz usually think of Christians as the Russian Orthodox Church. The gospel is proclaimed relatively openly and there are now 5000-6000 Kyrgyz believers. Pray that appropriate biblical material will be taught so that the Kyrgyz churches will grow. Pray that these Kyrgyz Christians will have jobs so that churches there can become financially independent. Pray especially for those Christians who are isolated in their villages. Answer: Dungans in Kyrgystan, Kazakhstan, and Uzbekistan Dungans are descendants of Hui, the largest Muslim group in China. One of the first Dungan believers discovered Christ in the mid-1990s and there have been stuggles between these new Christians and their Muslim families. Sometimes Islam takes over and the Chrisitans lose their faith because of fear of relatives or other causes. There are only 50 Dungan believers known in Central Asia, who suffer hardships, cruel and unusual punishment, and marriage problems, so Pray hard for these believers. Only the Gospel of Mark is translated into the Dungan language, so Pray that the whole bible will be translated. Pray for others that they may come to know Christ. Pray that missionaries will be willing to learn the language and to identify and suffer with the people. Copyright © 2007 - 2008 www.thanktoday.com
