I have a friend who's basically said, "Screw Christianity." Now, he's gone through a lot of crap in the past few years, but still--he's totally done a 180. I used to think he was one of the godliest guys I knew, but now...
It just bothers me because 1) he is turning his back on the One who is his life, who's brought him through so much and 2) I feel like I'm at fault somehow. I've tried to talk to him so many times, but it's like he's made up his mind. This hurts, guys. I don't want to see him go down the same route.
The crazy thing is that I've had a lot of the same doubts he has...and yet here I am, asking you to pray for him because I believe God can do the impossible. How did we end up in such different places? I don't know. I really don't know.

Periods of doubt are of course normal, and sometimes huge doubts come before huge growth times. But it sounds like he might have given up trying.
