Where's the line?

Question:
So first check out this video. Then I would be curious as to your response to these questions:
There is obviously a line between mocking and using humor and alternate presentation styles to convey truth, so which side of the line is this on? And what led you to that conclusion?
Thanks
Answer:
...um...huh...
I don't see anything inherently "wrong" with it, but I don't find it humorous either. So... it's not on the scale?
Edit:
Though I will admit someone's pretty talented to fit the new lyrics like that into the "song."

Thanks I don't think that was meant to mock the original or convey truth. I'm fairly certain it was made simply to be amusing. I can't think of any reasons why it would be wrong to make a parody like that (the Apologetixs do it all the time).

I don't care if it's mocking the original song. I was referring to mocking the subject, ie the Bible. And I'm sure the intention that it was made for was to be amusing and because this man wanted to convey that he loves the Bible. But parodies are parodies and I was just wondering what you think about the line between amusing yet true and mocking yet true. And then what your criteria were for that opinion.
Answer:
I love it when people make a big deal over nothing... nothing says mature like getting up in arms over something harmless....

Thanks I'm not sure how this would be interpreted as mocking the Bible. I suppose it could be considered tasteless, but mockery requires an intent to be mocking, and I don't think that's this guy's intent.

I'm not trying to make a big deal out of anything, I'm just curious as to what people think about this presentation.
I would readily admit that my mind is probably skewed to think that something can only be respectful if it is sung slowly with organ music behind (you get the picture). So thank you for your comments and keep them coming if you have something further to add.

If you want to talk about whether or not it is respectful, that is a different issue.

You started a thread on a really old parody/joke to make a point that you think it's distasteful and mockery...

Sorry for being behind on what's hip but I just saw this for the first time this week. And please point out in my first post where I said that I thought it was distasteful and mockery. And I'd appreciate it if you had something pertinent to say about the conversation.
Answer:
It's funny. Take it as funny. On a side note, I want some KJV bling.

I do think it's funny. I'm still curious as to hearing reasoning from someone who maybe thinks it's not and why. But I guess nobody thinks that way. Oh well.
My baby got Book, so it's all good.

I was asking my pastor (also my best friend) about this and we laughed and thought it was funny and that the content was solid. But he brought up a good point about it being very reminiscent of the original song and not wanting to lead people to recall that song, especially kids. I don't know, I think I worded that awkwardly, but I thought he made a good point.
Answer:
I don't think we really need to be that worried about bringing up memories of the original song. A memory of a bad song is hardly a sin.
