Do you mean the history in which biblical events occurred? Just find a good history book on the ancient near-east.
Otherwise, most commentaries will have that information in them usually.
An interesting read is the history of theology or Christian thought. Things like the history of the doctrine of hell, or the theology of Messiah, things like that.

I'm trying to find other events that were occurring that might have influenced some of the events in the bible. I know that there were several nations ready to go to war during Jesus' time. Things like that are what I'm curious about.
Correction: I should ask... was Amenhotep IV influenced to change to monotheism by Abraham perhaps or is that unrelated?
